Xavier Drumgoole qualifies for the NCAA Championships, crushing his PB in the triple jump by 2 1/2 feet to finish third in the NCAA West Prelims at 53-10 1/2 (16.42)! That’s No. 2 in school history and breaks a Stanford frosh record that had stood for 55 years!

Georgetown HS Salutatorian Nathan Aaker shared stories during his graduation speech of learning from times when the "results were less than perfect"; about perseverance and "taking the next step forward," and celebrating how he and his classmates have grown. "Let's not forget where we came from. Georgetown is the best place in the world." He closed by saying, "We have the entire world at our fingertips. How are you going to use it?"

Valedictorian Aurelia Anderson talked about finding joy during her high school journey. "I thought I had to be perfect at everything," she said, "And it took the joy from the things I loved. I decided my senior year would be different."
She learned "It will never be about figuring it all out," but learning that "there is so much life to live and joy to be had. Joy is all around us."
She reminded her classmates that, "You are shaped by the struggles you encounter, but they don't make you. You make you!"

Class of 2025, you have the tools for success, and your future is bright!
Take what you have learned, continue to persevere, and to Lead, Grow, and Serve. Find your joy and remember that you always have a home here in Georgetown ISD and #GeorgetownTX.
