Paper alert!
Really excited about this one because I tested one of the major hypotheses of my PhD and it holds! We present a process-based geochemical framework that describes what happens to carbonates as they get buried; i.e. we break down diagenesis!

I named one of the Mclane pumps in our cruise Bishy, after my cat. Bishy went all the way to the deep North Atlantic Ocean and came back with lots of particles!
Please consider applying and spreading the word regarding a workshop aiming to broadening participation in Scientific Ocean Drilling. if you don't know what this is but interested to learn, this is for you!
#IODP Workshop Announcement: Establishing Early-Career Scientific Ocean Drilling Learning Communities (Aug 6-8; College Station, TX). #ECR s, find out more & apply by June 29th: https://t.co/drJOanjA7g

@daviddevlee While I don't think this is a perfect solution, I am so happy to see that people are trying to find a solution to this problem. One thing that is not discussed nor addressed in this article is the power dynamics amongst authors, which, in my opinion, is the root of most evil :)
JOB ALERT📣 We are hiring a postdoctoral investigator who will work with us to develop and execute a scaled series of ship-based ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) field trials for our OAE project led by @AdamSubhas. More info: https://t.co/RzDpYqmGNB
In one of these lab demo ⬇️ we added alkalinity to seawater and watched the CO2 in the headspace decline due to its removal by seawater. Perhaps one day we will witness the decrease of atmospheric CO2 as a result of Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement!
Pls RT! Myself and Lyle Nelson are looking to recruit graduate students into our Earth History Group at Carleton University @ErthSciCarleton in Ottawa.
If you are a carbonator, consider submitting your abstract to our session: Early diagenesis in carbonate sediments, convened by @NohlTheresa, @cpederson_geo , myself, @layajc, and Paul Wright
Note that Dubrovnik is King's Landing in GOT :))
