Tamoria was a star in the Capitol and so generous to me and my staff from day one. I am forever grateful. Even more importantly, she was a stellar person. We will all miss her. God bless her family and friends. RIP my friend. #txlege
"When I think about Tamoria, I hold this light close to my heart. The belief in the power of literacy to illuminate children’s futures," writes @marylynnpruneda in tribute to her friend Tamoria Jones, the Angel of Literacy. #txlege#txed

HB 100 was my signature piece of legislation for the 88th Regular Legislative Session. I'm very sad to say that it ultimately did not pass! Below is my statement.
@txcomptroller just came out with an update to one of our favorite publications - Taxes of Texas: A Field Guide. We hope lawmakers are looking to use some of that record sales tax growth to increase the state’s investments in public schools! #txlege https://t.co/7sd9lgEHWv
Our CFO Leo Lopez and Director of Advocacy Services Ben Melson are out with a new op-ed pushing for lawmakers to use state surpluses on improving school facilities. #txlege#txed https://t.co/8tfYqfi629

Thank you @TAMS09626603 and @tars_tarsed for honoring our Chief Operating Officer, Chairman Dan Huberty along with our friend @RepMaryGonzalez. We are looking forward to our continued partnership with these great organizations in support of public schools across the state.
Given the financial tumult ahead, it would be smart if districts share budget projections for AT LEAST 3 yrs out. That means a 22-23 budget has figures for 23-24 & 24-25.
Our forecasts suggest spending is way up for this yr, but 24-25 will be ugly.
Worth taking a look at yours.
