@FinPlanKaluAja1 The Chairman of the Waste Pickers Association in Lagos once spoke about registration for the pickers to curb the unlawful act, dunno how far they ve gone with that.
@Oluomoofderby@My_name_is_Theo We need more than laws in our country. More awareness and enlightenment ll also do as victims often shy away from making reports. Some ll say "it's family business, we ll sort it at home."
An Uber driver from Iran told me a story that changed my life.
Uber drivers have always been a great part of my learning. It is an education worth 100x the Uber fee.
We started the conversation and I asked him about the most powerful lesson he carried from home.
He told me a famous story attributed to Imam Ali (Ali ibn Abi Talib).
When he was the 4th Caliph, a visitor came to see him at night.
Imam Ali asked one question before the conversation even started:
"Is this a public matter… or your personal matter?"
The man replied it is a personal matter.
Imam Ali switched off the lamp, and put on another lamp.
The visitor was confused and asked why.
Imam Ali said, "that lamp was paid for with public funds. This one is paid for with my own money."
How many present day leaders would even notice which lamp is which?
If this resonates, share it in your community.

I picked up my sister who was visiting Nigeria for Christmas from the US from the airport. Because their flight was delayed, they had to drop me off at the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs for some work I am doing there for a client.
My sister asked said: “Ministry of Women Affairs? Nice building but what do they do there?”
Interviewing them, some of what I learnt was:
- ensuring that children are protected during adoptions
- ensuring social protection for women and children
- ensuring women have a means of livelihood to be able to nurture their children and families
-ensuring that children’s brains get the right nutrition and stimulation to be able to develop in the crucial first 2,000 days of life
- Developing a policy for domestic care givers (house helps and nannies)
- Coordinating with the Ministries of Health, Education, Water Resources, Agriculture, Water Resources and Labour to give women and children a chance of a better life.
- Working to avoid violence against women and girl
- Advocating that men are not the enemy but are important stakeholders in a quest for a better society.
A lot of work goes in the civil service that don’t make headlines because they are not construction of roads and bridges. A lot of people dedicate their lives to doing unglamorous but vital things. They work for 35 years and retire anonymously.
Your private sector arrogance of targets and KPIs to sell soft drinks can never understand this.
Show some respect.
The treatment of @MoSalah at @lfc is another example of racism. Would he have been treated like that if he were an English player with that level of achievement? The answer is no. They will find excuses for his lack of performance.
I feel bold to make this statement even as a @ManUtd supporter.
Dutch coaches can also be nasty by destroying good players: Louis Van Gaal and Erik Ten Hag are on my mind.
@takeeeasy Uncountable number that lived with us when we were growing up. With the privileges that God has given men, I believe that all men are called to live a life of sacrifice. If you think about it, what does a man really need besides meat, alcohol (if he is so inclined) and sex?
