”Millions without power, more than a hundred car crashes, and flights canceled everywhere. Severe winter weather is wreaking havoc across the nation.” - USA Today. Extreme, irregular weather events are only going to become more common if we don’t act against climate change now!

Continuing our celebration of local businesses, this week we are shouting out Rockwell Brewery! They send their spent grain to local farmers to feed their animals. Reusing materials like this is a great way to get the most out of Earth’s valuable resources. #MobilizeFrederick

Maryland Politicians introduced groundbreaking “Climate Solutions Now Act” in the 2021 Legislative Session. The bill, which aims for zero greenhouse emissions by 2045, is supported by a broad coalition of 73 Maryland organizations. What a great step forward for our state! 🌎

When your neighbors or friends see you walking or biking more, using solar-powered outdoor lighting, or bringing delicious vegetarian dishes to the pot-luck, they are more likely to consider doing the same.
So, share your climate actions with those around you! #MobilizeFrederick

The new year provides an inspiring time to make changes and try to make the world a better place. What difference can an individual make in the current race towards disaster, or even extinction? Studies have shown that only 3.5% of the population is needed for a revolution.

According to the NRDC, “Across the food system, America throws out more than 400 lbs of food per person per year...Wasted food generates climate change equivalent to 37 million cars/year. If we could redirect 1/3 of what we toss to people in need, it would cover unmet food needs”
