@spoonfulofhan Oh, this is like when I was attacked and dragged through the mud for taking my LIFE SAVING medication, because the manufacturer funds Israel.
Apparently refusing to stop taking it even though that means a painful death, is abhorrent of me! I deleted my main accounts after that!
@KatTheHammer1@swiss487 Know more than a doctor. Like how do they think I managed to get a controlled medication prescribed? The checks and tests you have to do first would make that near impossible!
@KatTheHammer1@swiss487 Even after you’ve gathered up alll your medical records, which is made ridiculously difficult, and in the UK you have to pay for them and each scan separately, send it off and then get told you’re “too young” to have that condition. They are not medically trained, but can…
@KatTheHammer1@swiss487 Tell you that you cannot possibly have the condition or disease you were diagnosed with, and have been having treatment for, for years.
And for some reason you then have to do a ton more work to appeal that decision and hope and pray the second person doesn’t think they ..
@DeeGoingsGirl A degree. All while being disabled with a progressive disability, having multiple major surgeries etc. To this day, I still get quizzed and questioned any time anyone finds out. I’m diagnosed with Dyslexia & Dyscalculia, but any time I make a mistake? I’m stupid bc I am HS 3/3.
@DeeGoingsGirl I was home schooled from age 5 after bullying racism, and struggling to keep up with a disability. I have never had a superiority complex, nor does my siblings or parents. But my whole life I have had friends and strangers say that I’m stupid/dumb/idiot and go on about how 1/-
@DeeGoingsGirl You can only be intelligent if you go to school, that you can’t learn at home, and then being quizzed on topics at every opportunity, to try and prove I could not do things.
I went to college with 0 qualifications, works my way through courses, then university, and now have 2/3
@DiaryofaSickGrl Proper teeth, they are small and more for grabbing, so just felt like being gummed by someone with no teeth and sandpaper!
No mark left or anything!
In 5 years it’s only happened 1 time for my and 1x for my sister, both mistakes! 2/2
@DiaryofaSickGrl No in an aggressive way!
They rely on movement to eat, especially when young, so movement triggers them to snap at food.
I was feeding him some pellets and used my hand because the long tweezers were too difficult, he missed the pellet food and got my finger!
They don’t have 1/
@DoomScroling@hazelnut6 Yikes I didn’t know it could I plant into scar tissue!
Much less that it was a thing!
I have a ton of scar tissue for various reasons, so that’s a fun new fear unlocked!
Luckily/unluckily depending on your opinion I don’t want and likely can’t have kids. But still, yikes!!
@ThePOTSPostman No, I’m the opposite.
I have a very high tolerance, I can drink a lot with very little to no effect.
I have EDS and also have high tolerance to anaesthetic, local doesn’t work at all.
I’ve also been on addictive meds for years at a time without any issue.
@broadwaybabyto PPE Protocol when in and out.
They let him leave for a walk around a few days in.
Both times family visiting wearing masks, and both times they ended up catching and taking it home.
It spread through the family.
My sis and I live separately are the only ones not to have it 3/3
@broadwaybabyto My family members have caught covid twice now.
BOTH times it was caught in hospital, while on a ward, from another patient.
My grandmother was on with a hole in her stomach.
Had to have tests, someone slipped through.
My dad had a stroke, was moved around the hospital 1/
@broadwaybabyto From different wards, including general and heart wards, they didn’t realise it was a stoke at first.
He only had a covid test once on the stroke ward, after being there 2 days.
Another patient was on a separate room with covid, but they didn’t seem to be following 2/
@LyndsayMcateer@adamfare1996 Disabled people are likely to need to go into care homes or pay for home care far earlier than an average elderly person.
So, how should we do that if we aren’t allowed savings?
I used all my savings when they wrongly cut me off, so I will be forced to live under a bridge 🤷🏻♀️
@adamfare1996 I spent alllll my savings when they WRONGLY cut me off when I went to Uni.
Not even an apology, and I didn’t get any back dating when I finally got it sorted once I left for surgery!
I didn’t have a ton, but Id been putting small amounts into savings since I was 16, uni at 22.
@savororaidh The teacher explaining while getting more & more frustrated helped and I’d be near tears from stress by the end.
I’d take work home, my parents would reword it, and/or just explain better and I’d be able to do “most” of it
Some of the work was straight up ridiculous though!
2/2
@savororaidh I too have dyscalculia, I was home educated and taught a similar way.
While I still can’t always remember or memorise, I can do the basics.
I was taught how my parents were? The “old way”
When I went to college (UK) I really struggled with all the new terms.
No amount of 1/
