Then began the process of adding the gems. I would stop every now and again to test to see how the light came through the gems. I did rhinestone the edge of the logo as well as the base

Once the coat was dry, I began painting using sponges for the initial base and then touched up areas with paint brushes. I then sealed it with a glossy finish (not pictured)

Next, I sanded and primed the handle with an acrylic spray paint. I taped the top as I wanted the black accents to remain

Once I got it open, I slowly continued along the seam and it eventually came off on its own. I have seen some people use a hand saw, but just be careful as the gap may be larger. I also took the time to sand the globe edges

I used a variety of exacto knives to slowly carve along the seam of the globe. I took my time over the course of two weeks to ensure I didn’t break or scratch it. If I could offer advice, tape the globe to keep it safe from accidental scratches

Before I even began, I did a lot of testing with the paint style I wanted and whether I’d want to do rhinestones instead. I did this for about a week or two.

My first step was to draft up some plans. I had four ideas initially, but asked for opinions and ended up choosing this

First, before getting started, a few things:
1. All armybombs are beautiful, no matter what version, if it is decorated, or in its original form

2. Just because I decorated it in a way you don’t like doesn’t mean it is wrong or that I don’t “appreciate” it.
