Treasury Blocks $100 Million from Going to ‘Dead People’ Due to New Anti-Fraud System

Trump sees dead people.

The Dept. of Treasury has stopped nearly $100 million in fraudulent claims from going to deceased people after a screening process was put into place in March 2025.

The savings began when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent began implementing a government-wide payment verification process in March 2025.

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reviewed 885 million payments totaling nearly $2.7 trillion and identified more than 4,900 payments worth approximately $99 million that were linked to dead recipients.

Treasury expanded its Do Not Pay verification system and gained permanent access to the Social Security Administration's Full Death Master File. President Donald Trump signed the Ending Improper Payments to Deceased People Act.

First, no more money to dead people. Now, no more illegal voters.
