The Hon’ble Supreme Court today dismissed the Central Government’s plea challenging the Calcutta High Court’s order directing the resumption of MGNREGA in Bengal. This is a HISTORIC VICTORY for the people of Bengal, who refused to bow down before Delhi’s ARROGANCE and INJUSTICE.

When they failed to defeat us politically, BJP weaponised deprivation. They imposed an ECONOMIC BLOCKADE on Bengal, snatching away the wages of the poor and punishing the people for standing by Maa, Mati, Manush. But Bengal does not yield. We promised to fight for every rightful rupee, every honest worker, every silenced voice.

আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি যে, আসন্ন খরিফ মরসুমের জন্য কৃষকবন্ধু (নতুন) প্রকল্পে সহায়তা প্রদান আজ থেকে শুরু করা হল।

কৃষকবন্ধু (নতুন) প্রকল্পে রাজ্যের কৃষকদের ও বর্গাদারদের বছরে দুই কিস্তিতে একর প্রতি ১০ হাজার টাকা সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়। যাঁদের কম জমি আছে, তাঁরাও আনুপাতিক হারে (ন্যূনতম ৪ হাজার টাকা) সহায়তা পান।

এবারে রাজ্যের ১ কোটি ৯ লক্ষ কৃষক ও বর্গাদার এই সহায়তা পাচ্ছেন।তাঁদের ব্যাঙ্ক অ্যাকাউন্টে মোট ২,৯৩০ কোটি টাকা সরাসরি দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

এই বছরের শেষের দিকে রবি মরসুমের জন্যও একই পরিমাণ টাকা দেওয়া হবে।

২০১৯ সালে চালু হবার পর থেকে এই প্রকল্পে মোট ২৪,০৮৬ কোটি টাকা আমরা আমাদের কৃষকদের কাছে পৌঁছে দিয়েছি। এজন্য আমি গর্বিত!

শুধু তাই নয়, ১৮ বছর থেকে ৬০ বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত কোনো কৃষক মারা গেলে তাঁর পরিবারকে সামাজিক সুরক্ষা দেবার উদ্দেশ্যে ২ লক্ষ টাকা সহায়তাও দেওয়া হয়। এই খাতেও বাংলার প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৪৬ হাজার কৃষক পরিবার মোট ২,৯২০ কোটি টাকা সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।

আমি সবসময় মনে করি, আমাদের কৃষকরা আমাদের সম্পদ, আমাদের গর্ব। আমাদের সরকার আগামীদিনেও এভাবেই তাঁদের সার্বিক কল্যাণের উদ্দেশ্যে কাজ করে যাবে।

১৯৯৩ সালের ২১ জুলাই আমাদের ১৩ জন সহযোদ্ধা সিপিআইএমের পুলিশের বর্বরোচিত অত্যাচার এবং নির্মম গুলিতে অকালে প্রাণ হারান।

ঐ দিন বন্দন দাস, মুরারী চক্রবর্তী, রতন মণ্ডল, বিশ্বনাথ রায়, কল্যাণ ব্যানার্জী, অসীম দাস, কেশব বৈরাগী, শ্রীকান্ত শর্মা, দিলীপ দাস, রঞ্জিত দাস, প্রদীপ রায়, মহম্মদ খালেক এবং ইনু শহিদ হন। তাঁদের বিনম্র চিত্তে প্রণাম জানাচ্ছি এবং শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি জ্ঞাপন করছি।

এছাড়াও, সকল ভাই-বোনেরা যাঁরা বিভিন্ন আন্দোলন ও কর্মসূচিতে শহিদ হয়েছেন, তাঁদের সকলকে এই শহিদ তর্পণ দিবসে জানাই প্রণাম ও আন্তরিক শ্রদ্ধার্ঘ্য।

I am shocked and deeply disturbed to learn that the Foreigners Tribunal in Assam has issued an NRC notice to Uttam Kumar Brajabasi, a Rajbanshi, resident of Dinhata in Cooch Behar for over 50 years. Despite furnishing valid identity documents, he is being harassed on suspicion of being a "foreigner/illegal migrant."

This is nothing short of a systematic assault on democracy. It is proof that the ruling BJP dispensation in Assam is attempting to implement NRC in Bengal, where it holds no power or jurisdiction. A premeditated attempt is being made to intimidate, disenfranchise, and target marginalised communities. This unconstitutional overreach is anti-people, and exposes BJP’s dangerous agenda of bulldozing democratic safeguards and erasing the identity of Bengal's people.

This alarming situation calls for urgent unity among all Opposition parties to stand up against BJP’s divisive and oppressive machinery. Bengal will not stand by as the constitutional fabric of India is torn apart.

আমি হতবাক ও অত্যন্ত বিচলিত হয়েছি জেনে যে, কোচবিহারের দিনহাটার বাসিন্দা রাজবংশী সম্প্রদায়ের উত্তম কুমার ব্রজবাসীকে অসমের ফরেনার্স ট্রাইবুনাল, এনআরসি নোটিশ জারি করেছে। গত ৫০ বছরেরও বেশি সময় ধরে তিনি এই বাংলার বাসিন্দা। তাঁর বৈধ পরিচয়পত্র থাকা সত্ত্বেও, তাঁকে "বিদেশি/অবৈধ অনুপ্রবেশকারী" সন্দেহে হয়রানি করা হচ্ছে।

এটি আমাদের গণতন্ত্রের উপর একটি পরিকল্পিত আক্রমণ ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়। এটিই প্রমাণ করে যে অসমে ক্ষমতাসীন বিজেপি সরকার পশ্চিমবঙ্গে এনআরসি চাপিয়ে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে, যেখানে তাদের কোনো ক্ষমতা বা অধিকার নেই। প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীকে ভয় দেখানো, ভোটাধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়া এবং নিশানা করার একটি পূর্বপরিকল্পিত নোংরা চক্রান্ত চলছে। এই অসাংবিধানিক আগ্রাসন জনবিরোধী এবং এটি বিজেপির বিপজ্জনক ষড়যন্ত্রকে দিনের আলোর মত স্পষ্ট করে দিচ্ছে যে, গণতান্ত্রিক সুরক্ষাকে ধ্বংস করে বাংলার মানুষের পরিচয় মুছে ফেলার অপচেষ্টা চালাচ্ছে বিজেপি।

Proud to share that 'SwasthyaIngit', a unique telemedicine initiative of our Health Department, GoWB has achieved yet another milestone by providing 6 crore tele consultations since its start in August 2021.

Today, this service is available at more than 10,000 SuSwasthya Kendra making health care accessible in the remote areas of the state. Even the specialised services of neurology, nephrology, cardiology, oncology, paediatrics are available in the remote areas due to this initiative.

It has been over 55 DAYS since the PAHALGAM terror attack. It is deeply concerning that in a democracy neither the mainstream media, members of the opposition, nor the judiciary has stepped forward to raise these five critical questions before the Government of India. However, as a citizen committed to the nation’s well-being and as a public representative entrusted with accountability, I raise these five questions before the Government of India:

🔴 Border Breach and Civilian Casualties:

1. How did four terrorists manage to infiltrate the border and launch an attack that killed 26 innocent civilians? Where is the accountability for this massive breach in national security ?

🔴 Intelligence Failure and IB Chief’s Extension:

2. If this was an intelligence failure, why was the Intelligence Bureau Chief granted a ONE YEAR EXTENSION, that too barely a month after the attack? Why was he REWARDED RATHER THAN HELD ACCOUNTABLE ? WHAT IS THE COMPULSION ?
If the GoI can conveniently use PEGASUS spyware against opposition leaders(including me), journalists and even judges, what stops it from using the same tools against terrorist networks and suspects?

🔴 Status of the Terrorists:

3. Where are the FOUR TERRORIST responsible for this brutal, religion-based massacre? ARE THEY DEAD OR ALIVE ? If they have been neutralized, why has the government failed to make a clear statement? And if they haven’t, WHY IS THE SILENCE ?

🔴 PoJK and the CEASEFIRE COMPROMISE:

4. When will India reclaim Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK)? Why hasn’t the government officially responded to the U.S. President’s claim that he persuaded India into a ceasefire with promises of trade - Just as the nation stood together irrespective of their cast, creed religion and political affinity, celebrating the triumph of righteousness and saluting the valour and sacrifice of our armed forces? WHY WERE THE EMOTIONS OF 140 CRORE INDIANS DISREGARDED?
What led to such a compromise?

🔴 Global Diplomacy and Hypocrisy:

5. After reaching out to 33 COUNTRIES post-Pahalgam in the last one month, how many extended explicit support to India?

If we are truly a VISHWAGURU and the world’s fourth-largest economy, why did the IMF and World Bank approve $1 BILLION and $40 BILLION in financial assistance and long-term investments to PAKISTAN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PAHALGAM ATTACK ? How did a nation repeatedly involved in cross-border terrorism not only escape global scrutiny but get rewarded ?

And more shockingly: Why was Pakistan appointed Vice-Chair of the UN Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee barely a month later?

NB: Over ₹2000000000000 (TWO LAKH CRORES) has been spent on external affairs over the past 10 years. The Indian public deserves transparency, accountability and results- NOT SILENCE AND SPIN!
