🐨: Before we get into the good news, I wanted to address this. Regarding ARIRANG, it is a song about love... It is also about longing for a loved one and is filled with sorrow.
🐨: So, ARIRANG is a key word that can be interpreted in many ways. For some, it represents resistance or a symbol of deep resentment (Han), while for others, it is a song about the sorrows and joys of life and longing.
🐨: Because it carries so many different layers of emotion, we thought it was the perfect theme to express the diverse feelings we wanted to share.
🐥: Also, because we have many ARMY around the world, we thought they would look up what ARIRANG is and learn more about our culture since we are Korean.
🐱: I actually performed Arirang in Paris about 10 years ago.
🐥: That's right! So it felt very meaningful to make this decision.

The woman represents us. BTS being apart but together with us

The woman first frantically search for the right ship among many. Then, she uses her chain watch to come through into the alternate world, the ship. The alternate world where she lives through all these emotions, excitement, sadness, longing, and many more.

This whole time, BTS exists alongside with her, watching her and over her quietly. She can't see them, but they are there. Together and apart, apart but together.

Jimin's scene pictures it perfectly.

This whole time, she doesn't change anything about herself. She is in the same clothes, she doesn't transform into anyone she is not. She is just herself, living in a space she feels free in.

In the end, she breaks through the 4th wall, looking at us as if sharing a secret we will understand.

Remember how we discussed how much harder this hiatus must be for BTS, because we can see them but they can't see us? This is the same sentiment in reverse. They come online and see our posts, they kept coming revisiting old fan-cafe, they watch us from afar.

And how BTS named this song? As their ultimate love song. Their own expression of arirang, a song about being apart and reuniting, longing and connecting, and many more.
