MODEL TRANSFER ERC Project

Our team (@cherfeld @EdoardoPeruzzi1 @Bakeeff) studies model transfer in science (esp. economics) at @iphilLUH (2023-28) #ERCStGr @ERC_Research #ModelTransfer

[MODEL TRANSFER ERC Project @ModelTransfERC]

The ERC-funded MODEL TRANSFER will provide a comprehensive philosophical investigation of the phenomenon of #ModelTransfer, its challenges, and its implications for scientific progress by combining approaches from philosophy and the history of science with computational methods.

Happy New Year from #ModelTransfer!
In 2025, we’re looking forward to:
🤝 Collaborating with amazing people
🎓 Welcoming new team members
📄 Publishing new papers (some already accepted!)
📚 Continuing our Digital Methods Reading Group

[MODEL TRANSFER ERC Project @ModelTransfERC]

We wrapped up the year at Hannover’s Christmas market✨🎄
2024 was crucial for advancing the methodological and conceptual basis of our research. In 2025, we’ll build on this progress, share findings & welcome new team members. Stay tuned!

Tarja Knuuttila and Andrea Loettgers argue that model templates, understood as abstract conceptual ideas associated with particular mathematical forms and computational methods, are crucial for the intra- and interdisciplinary transfer of models.

NEW RESEARCH: The @ERC_Research requires reflecting our methodology of comp methods. In 2 papers, one with @MalteDoehne for A Currie & @Dr_inPhieVeigl Phil of Sci: A Users Guide & one in Synthese for Pence&Rivelli's collection Digital Studies of Digital Science, we do just that.
