•The directive was issued by M. Devraj, Principal Secretary of the Appointment Department.

•Character verification will not be required for employees already serving in government departments.
•Information may be sought from a candidate’s previous department, where applicable.

In 2002, Sharad Pawar mediated the Bajaj family dispute. During the UPA Govt, your own Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, mediated b/w the Ambani brothers over their gas dispute.

Back then, political leaders facilitating discussions between major business groups was perfectly acceptable.

Now, when the Modi Govt engages with Tata Trusts and Tata Sons to discuss a legal and commercial matter, you immediately scream crony capitalism and conspiracy.

So what exactly is your objection? The meeting itself, or the fact that it happened under a government you don't like?

If mediation was acceptable under your own government, you cannot suddenly label it corruption when someone else does it.
