Dowry Couldn't Be Paid... So They Beaten Her And Set Her on Fire

📍 Chandauli-Varanasi, UP

Sonali, married just 06 months ago, is now fighting for her life at Varanasi Trauma Centre... allegedly set on fire by her husband and in-laws over a dowry demand of ₹1 lakh.

Her father Ramsundar, says he got Sonali married to Vikas Prajapati on 26 February 2026. Almost immediately after the wedding, the demands began... husband & In-laws allegedly kept pressuring the family for ₹1 lakh cash.

On 28 August, Sonali was allegedly beaten again over the same demand... and then set on fire using a gas cylinder. Doctors referred her to Varanasi Trauma Centre due to critical condition.

Her father has filed a complaint at Saidrajaa Police Station against three accused... but no FIR registered yet. Police say investigation is underway.

*Some reports says she lost her life.

Prateek Tripathi, son of a private school manager, allegedly raped a 15 y/o Class 10 student repeatedly over 4 months.

He lured her with promises of city education and full expenses, threatening to fail and defame her if she refused.

When the girl finally said NO, he leaked their private audio conversation. Humiliated and scared, she attempted suicide. She later told her younger sister, who encouraged her to speak up.

A case has been registered at Gola police station under rape and POCSO Act.
