Hello world. my name is Palesa and I am the Founder of Bread Africa. We use science, tech and business to empower farmers๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐พ๐ฑ๐๐ค๐ฟ๐ฆ
Meet Percy Price ๐ค โ the newest member of the Bread Africa family! ๐๐
Weโre helping farmers turn data into profit by unlocking deep market insights. We started off with pricing from the Jozi Municipal Market - Africaโs BIGGEST market trading R10b worth of fruit and veggies annually ๐ฐ๐คฏ
Yesterday I discovered that the Durban market publishes data too. And you know what? Their data goes back years!!! ๐๐ A girl is about to do some serious data analysis. Imagine all the trends weโll pick up and share with farmers and buyers ๐๐ค helping them plan with precision. ๐๐
Knowledge is the new fertilizer.

@XekiHlongwane South Africa definitely has hunger and malnutrition. Almost 65% of SA households are food insecure. 18% of our households face severe food insecurity and 1000 children die annually from starvation. Almost 30% of children under 5 are stunted.
Growing up I was reading books like the last one below ๐๐ฝ I wonโt lie I was obsessed with your James Pattersons and Steven Kings.
Your Lord of the Rings, Harry Potters and Along Came a Spiders were my thing. Although I love me some good old sci-fi and fantasy it wasnโt until I read some Chimamanda ๐ณ๐ฌ ๐ค novels that I really felt seen.
Diplomatic Ties follows a girl from Mamelodi who becomes a diplomat as is stationed in Belgium. But not before she makes some suspect decisions and ends up involved in some serious international espionage shenanigans. I relate to this book because one of my buddyโs was the 3rd secretary for South Africa at our embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ๐ช๐น ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ I visited her in Addis in 2021 and let me tell you I enjoyed the diplomat life. ๐
Mbali is like me and you. Navigating this big world as a Black women is something else hey. But Iโd choose it in every lifetime.
Zola is also an international girl. This is a sequel to โThe thing about Zolaโ. An industrial engineer turned events planner whoโs fallen in love and stepped in the wrong toes. This one is a lot lighter and just a fun love story at heart. I went to school with the author by the way ๐ป How cool is that?
