🔥🔥 One of the biggest mistakes you can make in a relationship is leaving your job to work for someone you’re only dating.
Until there is a lifelong commitment, always protect your financial independence.
Love is beautiful, but wisdom is necessary. Never put yourself in a position where your livelihood depends entirely on a relationship that has no legal or lifelong commitment.
Build together if you choose to, but don’t lose your independence in the process.
IAS 36 - Impairment of Assets
Imagine you buy a bicycle for 100k
One year later
- it is old.
- Th tyres are worn out
- Nobody wants to pay more than 60k for it.
Today, it is worth less than 100k.
IAS 36 says assets should NOT be carried in the financial statements at more than the amount expected to be recovered from using or selling it.
If Recoverable Amount is less than Carrying Amount, this is called IMPAIRMENT.
Impairment simply means the asset has lost value.
IAS 36 requires a company to assess at each reporting date whether there is any indication that an asset may be impaired.
These indicators could be:
- significant decline in market value;
- adverse changes in technology
- increase in market interest rates
- physical damage
If you want to determine if an asset has suffered impairment, you will have to:
Step 1: Identify the recoverable amount.
The recoverable amount is the higher of (1) Fair Value less Cost to Sell and (2) Value in Use.
step 2: Compare the recoverable amount to the carrying amount.
If Carrying Amount > Recoverable Amount; Recognize Impairment loss
Accounting Treatment of Impairment loss:
Dr P & L
Cr PPE
Effect:
This causes a write down in the carrying value of a PPE and reduction in profit.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dear Menstruation,
We need to talk.
First of all, I respect your consistency. Every month, no fail.
You don’t even send a memo, you just show up. That’s commitment.
But can we address a few things? 😢
You already take blood. Fine, we’ve accepted that part.
You already bring cramps that make us question every life choice we’ve ever made. We’ve managed.
You already come with fatigue that turns a simple flight of stairs into Mount Everest. We’ve coped.
So my question is,why the extra?
Why do you always have to announce your arrival by redecorating our faces with pimples? 🥲😢
Is the blood not enough announcement? Is the back pain not loud enough? Do you really need to leave souvenirs on our cheeks and chin for the whole world to see?
We are already dealing with mood swings, cravings, and the fear of staining white. We are already calculating pad money.
Please, can we sign a peace treaty? Take the blood, take the cramps if you must, but leave our faces alone.
We are managing enough. Let us at least keep our glow.
Yours sincerely,
Every girl who has checked the mirror and said “God, not again” few days before you arrived.

If I’m at home and my mummy wants to cook semo for instance , she’ll ask if I’ll eat, I’ll say no.
She’ll put water on fire and ask me again ,I’ll say no. When she wants to turn the semo she’ll ask if she should turn my own, I’ll still say no.
When semo is ready she’ll still come to ask if she should dish my own I’ll shout no.
When she dishes her semo she’ll tell me to come and take one or two morsel and I’ll get angry and say I’m not eating seh.
Later I’ll enter the kitchen because I want to eat semo, open cooler and see she has carefully wrapped semo for me, I’ll eat it and she’ll say she knows I’ll later get hungry and eat it.
The day wey my aunty ask me if I go chop semo and I talk no, I enter her kitchen, she don wash semo pot and the plate wey she take chop, no semo for cooler too. I ask why she no keep semo for me , she say I talk say I no dey chop now. E pain me gan 😭😭😂😂
