Please don’t come closer unless you plan to stay, because I’m tired of getting attached to people who only know how to leave. I don’t want another almost, another temporary comfort, or another person who makes me feel safe just to disappear when things get real. If you’re going to enter my life, come with honesty, patience, and genuine intentions. My heart is not a place to visit when you’re lonely. It’s a place I need you to respect.

Today, as we celebrate Katiba Day, I honor all those who worked so hard to deliver the most transformative Constitutions in the World.

I pay tribute to those who died in the process of agitating for the Constitution.

You are forever our Mashujaa.

I celebrate all those Kenyans who have worked day and night since August 2010 to get our Constitution fully implemented.

I pay special tribute to the GenZs-a generation that has strongly decided that - at a time the political elite are doing everything to undermine Katiba - it will invest all it energies in giving new impetus and strength to Katiba.

We love your resolve.

We honour your dedication.

We revere your sense of purpose.

We celebrate your courage.

Many of your colleagues have paid the ultimate price: being killed by a regime which nothing is too sacred to come between it and its corrupt and criminal ways. Not even life.

You have not been forgotten. You will never be forgotten.

On this day, let us re-dedicate ourselves to #tekelezakatiba and protect it jealously from a regime that fought against it and is now determined to violate it in every manner.
