How do you make a movie about one of the most iconic brands in the world- that represents some of the most beautiful race cars ever built- so insanely boring and even depressing?

You cast Penelope Cruz, a Spanish actress, and tell her to speak use her Spanish-accented English to do a terrible Italian accent. She plays the bitter, joyless, scorned wife of Enzo Ferrari.

You have Adam Driver play Enzo as a mean, dour, broken man who never smiles in the whole movie, doesn’t seem to know anything about racing other than “if my driver dies, who cares”

And you have a race car driving movie with almost *no racing* for the first 90 minutes of the film. Just Penelope Cruz outraged a lot over boring marital spats.

Some of the dialogue is laugh-out-loud cheesy. “Freedom for that pigeon is pie” (actual quote)
