This is the result of the work done by many across multiple administrations, and assigning such credit to one person in the same boot-licking manner shows how ill fit they are for these positions.
Maldives is on the path of a failed state, not today — It’s been on this trajectory for a long time, and the deterioration maybe exponential at one point. 😞
#Maldives: Authorities must immediately release journalists Mohamed Shahzan and Leevan Ali Nasir and end judicial harassment of their news outlet, Adhadhu, the Committee to Protect Journalists said Tuesday.
According to a report by Adhadhu and a post on X by the Maldives Journalists Association, a court in the capital Malé sentenced Shahzan, a reporter with Adhadhu, to 15 days in jail after he was removed from a May 11 press conference for questioning President Mohamed Muizzu about allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse of power raised in the outlet’s documentary, “Aisha.” Authorities later barred Adhadhu from briefings, citing a criminal court gag order on discussing the film.
In a separate case, Nasir, a journalist with the same publication, received a 10-day sentence over a report on the same gag order, which the court deemed a violation, Adhadhu reported.

Free my husband! @MMuizzu
My husband is behind bars for doing exactly what a journalist is supposed to do, asking questions and seeking the truth.
While the President sits in his office, my three children are sitting at home asking where their father is.
The new Jeffrey Epstein files reveal Epstein and elites were allegedly involved in planning the Covid Pandemic
“Here's the second most important email from the Epstein files. Subject line, Prepare for Pandemics. Written on March 19, 2015. In that email it says, ‘Let's discuss next steps. For example, how to involve the World Health Organization. I hope we can pull this off.’
Then in 2019 came Event 201, a simulation of a global pandemic to see how each organization should react. Like how to counter the anti-vaxxers. And the spread of misinformation. That was sponsored by Bill Gates, by the way.
And in early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic happened, one of the biggest scams in modern history.
Now we know that Bill Gates and Epstein were close, because in another email, Gates is asking Epstein to give him antibiotics to slip to his then-wife Melinda, because he may have given her STDs that he caught on Epstein Island — And then they gave that guy the mandate to push vaccines on all of us
And to add insult to injury, we the people have to watch his a** walk freely and lecture us on climate change at the World Economic Forum.”
The deadline is fast approaching to pay a $500 million Sukuk payment, which is the biggest test for our country. What I see is that the president, the entire cabinet, and the MPs are prioritizing controlling the media and crushing dissent and oversight functions, whatever it takes. By doing this, they are eroding the small amount of credibility we have in the Maldivian economy and financial system.
Due to this bill, my forecast is that things will become more intense, leading to more chaos and instability. The stability of the economy is at risk. Credit rating agencies and financial institutions should seriously question this govt about their seriousness and effort to repay this debt. I think they should closely watch the developments and adjust ratings as the govt has no seriousness on making our economy right. Rating agencies should keep asking this question as our whole cabinet is busy bashing the media, playing politics, and preparing for the next election. As far as I know, the govt is running out of options to repay the Sukuk because of these policy mistakes and the low priority given to this issue within the govt. The entire govt has no clue on the seriousness of this issue. @moodysratings@FitchRatings@IMFNews
The leader of the supermajority in the Maldivian parliament called for journalists to be put through the mediaeval torture of impalement. This lawmaker advocated in the chamber for murder, yet we, the people, must abide by the laws passed by these sadists.
I really want to thank @HKurusee for the work he did. Many corruption and politicians influence was exposed by him. It's really sad that @X took action of this anonymous account. Freedom of speech is forbidden in the Maldives. #BringBackHKurusee#HKuruseeisnotaterrorist
