Take your eyes off your own limitations and focus on the God of all hope, because He's the One who's going to bring it to pass in His timing and in His way. Keep your hopes up because hope is from heaven!
When Peter sank, Jesus did not lecture him. He reached down and pulled him up. That is still who Jesus is. When you feel like you are going under, He is not standing back and watching. He is reaching for you. Reach back.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33
It’s natural to have questions like, How often should I study God’s Word? and How long should I study?
Well, the Bible never tells us how long to study—it just says we’ll be extremely blessed as we regularly study and meditate on the Word (I’ll teach more about meditation on Day 9). But I think it’s helpful to compare studying the Bible—our “spiritual food”—to the way we provide our bodies with natural food.
Just as our bodies absolutely require food to live, we also absolutely require God’s Word to grow, mature, enjoy our lives and follow God’s plan for our future. God loves us so much, and studying His Word—His love letter to us—is a great way to get to know Him and everything He has for our lives.
You may have a small cup, small faith, small dreams, but if God only blessed us according to how much we believed, then we would be limited. It’s not the size of your faith that will limit you; it’s the quality of your character. God looks at our heart as much as He looks at our faith.
“Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared,
a great king over all the earth.” Psalm 47:1–2
O peoples, fear not finding the King of all the earth to be your joy.
Feelings will tell you that you’ll never make it. Feelings will say nothing good is in your future, but God says your latter days will be better than your former days. Feelings will tell you that you’ll always struggle, but God’s plans for you are for good, to prosper you. Don’t let your feelings talk you out of your destiny.
“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear.” Psalm 46:1–2
In the darkness of trouble he will most surely be found.
Reach out and there he is.
Start believing again. Start dreaming again. Start hoping again.
