While there are 7 days left until LockBit publishes the data of Fawry, in the early hours of this morning, an Arab hacktivist group affiliated with Anonymous claims to have taken the official Fawry site offline for 3 hours and to have exfiltrated tons of private data from them.

Unlike LockBit, which operates for financial gains, this attack is politically motivated, focusing on Egypt's support for Israel. The group made their position clear by saying, "Egypt should stop supporting Israel and instead support their brothers and sisters struggling in Palestine."

Even if the sample, as in this case, is only 1 megabyte, it can still contain hundreds of thousands of sensitive pieces of information.

We at Hackmanac will neither download nor view the file out of respect for the privacy of all Fawry's customers.

The authenticity of the attack has yet to be confirmed, and we are awaiting further updates on the matter.
