कुछ ऐसे भी राज्य हैं जहां मुसलमानों की अच्छी खासी आबादी है. जैसे दिल्ली (13%), गुजरात (10%), हरियाणा (7%), झारखंड (15%), कर्नाटक (13%), मध्य प्रदेश (7%), महाराष्ट्र (12%), राजस्थान (9%), तेलंगाना (13%), उत्तराखंड (13%). तेलंगाना से एक MIM का एक सांसद हमेशा आते हैं. 15 वर्षों के बाद महाराष्ट्र से एक सांसद जीतकर आया. अच्छी खासी आबादी होने के बावजूद इनमें बाकी राज्यों से एक भी मुस्लिम सांसद नहीं है. कारण सिर्फ एक है. जिन सेक्युलर पार्टियों को मुसलमान थोक में वोट देते हैं, उन पार्टियों ने मुसलमानों को उचित संख्या में टिकट नहीं दिया. इन राज्यों में ऐसे क्षेत्र भी हैं जहां मुस्लिम वोटर 35% से ज्यादा हैं. इस प्रकार सेक्युलर दलों ने मुसलमानों के साथ धोखा किया है. जिसकी जितनी संख्या भारी उसकी उतनी हिस्सेदारी और टिकट दो वोट लो. ऐसी आवाज इन राज्यों से उठनी चाहिए.

शर्जिल इमाम, उमर खालिद जैसे कई ऐक्टिविस्ट कई सालों से जेल में बंद हैं. इनके प्रकरण को देखकर लागत है कि इनको झूठे और बेबुनियाद आरोप में फंसाया गया है. जानबूझकर इनपर गंभीर धाराएँ लगायी गयी हैं. ये वे लोग हैं जिन्होंने ने संविधान की बात की और कानून के दायरे में अपने अधिकारों की रक्षा की बात की है. बोलने की आजादी को कुचलना लोकतंत्र को नीचे गिराने जैसा है. मैं सुप्रीम कोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश से निवेदन करता हूं कि इनके बेल की जल्द सुनवाई हो और इन्हें इन्साफ मिले.
