Chaired the launch today of the new Hazara report. Evidence challenges UK’s absurd statement that Hazara who have fled to Pakistan don’t face persecution. Speakers included Baroness Helena Kennedy KC, @paulbristow79@brendanohara5@EwelinaUO Report at:https://t.co/GBivG1L3vD
The more I read about the Sino-Afghan oil production agreement, the less I understand it:

Haters will say that's because I don't know much about the oil industry. It's true!
But it only takes a little research to see the numbers don't add up.

Locals were unable to speak with @UNAMAnews investigators in Daikundi due to language barriers. The family of victims were left frustrated for their inability to communicate and share their eyewitness accounts. With years of ‘engagement’ in Afghanistan, UNAMA should know better.
Wrote this feature for @dawn_com about #Quetta’s Hazaras who managed to flee Pakistan to escape violence and got asylum in the US.
They may have found safety in exile, but it comes at the cost of severe financial woes and emotional trauma.

Taliban claimed they have killed 9 armed rebels in Daikundi, but the new photos of the victims sent to me by families of victims show 3 kids are among the victims. None of the victims related to any armed groups. #Afghanistan@SR_Afghanistan

.@UNICEF is deeply shocked and saddened by the terrible attack, Thursday, in Siwak Shibar village, Nili District, Daikundi Province, that left four boys - aged between 1 and 14 - dead.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to their families as they grieve the tragic losses.
1. Nine members of my extended relatives have been atrociously killed by the evil Taliban forces in Daikundi — over a land dispute provoked by local militias. The victims include 2 women, 4 children, and an entire family rocketed and wiped out. @SR_Afghanistan#StopHazaraGenocide

It has been 400 days since the Taliban effectively banned girls from school. Moreover, they're increasingly hollowing out & disrupting university education, particularly targeting Hazara women & girls. 1/3
During my visit to #Afghanistan, I met diverse stakeholders incl. female & male reps of civil society from several provinces. Reps from #Panjshir described a massive crackdown on civilians by TB & widespread human rights abuses, incl. egregious violations of women & girls.

Three Afghan women detained for protesting Taliban abuses described torture and other severe mistreatment in custody. This includes: threats, beatings, dangerous confinement, denial of due process, abusive conditions of release, and other abuses. https://t.co/ydijBQgUIL
On September 30, a suicide attack on an educational center in Kabul killed or injured more than 100 students.
Most of the victims were Hazara girls who were preparing for the university entrance exam. #Afghanistan
