NEW: Is the internet changing our personalities for the worse?
Conscientiousness and extroversion are down, neuroticism up, with young adults leading the charge.
This is a really consequential shift, and there’s a lot going on here, so let’s get into the weeds 🧵
♀️ Here is why top achieving women don't pursue entrepreneurship:
- Success ≠ starting a company
- Startup culture feels ego-driven or unethical
- Founding doesn’t align with their goals for impact, meaning, or balance
Is GenAI eroding higher education? 🤔
GenAI shortcuts cognitive processes like critical thinking, cognitive flexibility and self-regulation.
Yet, students using GenAI achieve better results—faster and with less effort than those who don't.
Are human experts losing to advanced AI?🧐
Research reveals people trust AI more than experts for investment decisions, viewing AI as selfless and objective.
To compete, experts must provide detailed explanations or convince decisions rely on nuanced understanding of context.
⚠️Customers punish "sincere" brands.
For such brands deviations from expectations break trust, making innovation risky and failure costly.
But for "exciting" brands deviations are seen as part of the experience, not failures, as long as core functions deliver.
Choose wisely.

This is such an excellent article on economic inequality.
Social media has focused our attention on conflict *between* generations (Millennials vs. Boomers), because that drives clicks. But the real source of economic inequality has always between *within* generations.
And the economic inequality *within* millennials is actually much worse than the economic inequality *within* boomers.
"In other words, millennials might be doing better than their predecessors—but they also might be the most economically divided generation that America has ever seen."
If you want to fix this, you'll need to think very differently about policy solutions.

“As gender equality increases, women express less preference for older men, men express less preference for younger women, and consequently the sex difference in the preferred age of mates becomes smaller.”
Despite men's preferences, actual sexual activity and marriage statistics align closely with the preferences of women (women tend to prefer men who are the same age to slightly older).
Study concludes: "Men's heterosexual activity is likely constrained by female choice."
Multiple studies have shown that men generally prefer women in their mid-twenties, REGARDLESS of their own age.
Most men would be Leonardo DiCaprio if they could.
"Women start deteriorating after the age of 25, turning 30 is like a funeral." 💀 Despite being politically incorrect, many silently subscribe to that notion.
Let's look at facts. 🧵

The best way to regulate anger is not to vent right away. It’s to calm down first.

Anger management is about lowering your heart rate, not raising it. Relaxing reduces rage.
