Sunday is coming.

“He received 39 stripes because 40 was known to kill a man. They wanted him alive. They held handfuls of his beard, and hair and pulled it out by the roots. They wanted him alive. They kicked, punched, and spit on him for hours. Until there wasn't a single spot on his body not covered in blood. They wanted him alive.

They shoved a crown of thorns down on his head so harshly it stuck in his skin. They wanted him alive. After hours of being beaten, mocked, whipped, flogged, and tortured they made him walk with a cross. They made him carry it. A rough piece of wood with splinters digging into fresh wounds. They wanted him alive.

They wanted him to feel every ounce of pain they could bring. He had to feel it in order to heal us. Crucifixion was historically one of the cruelest most tortured deaths a human could face. Hours upon hours of torture. Torture most of us can not mentally think of because the cruelty isn't normal. It isn't something our minds can comprehend. We celebrate Easter with pastel colors, happy children hunting eggs, and chocolate. Truth is there was absolutely nothing happy about the day Jesus died. It was cruel, bloody, and nasty.

He could have stopped all of it. He could have called every angel in heaven to demolish every person standing and shouting "Crucify Him!" He didn't. He knew in order to have a Sunday you have to have a Friday. He knew in order to have joy you have to carry your cross. He felt everything that day. He felt how your heart broke wide open when you had to watch your baby die. He felt how heavy your life was when you were staring down the barrel of a gun wondering if the man you called husband was going to shoot you. He carried the weight of the burden you have felt since your spouse died, and life just doesn't seem right since.

On that cross he held the rapist and murderers, the sinner and the saint. He leveled every playing field and said ALL of you are worth it. He knew he had to carry the cross. He never promised the cross you carry in this life would not be heavy. His wasn't. His promise is that Sunday is coming.

No matter how heavy Friday is. Financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically. Friday is heavy. That cross is weighing you down and you are about to crumble under its weight. His promise was simply this. He won't make you carry it alone. What kind of king would step down from his throne for this?

Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God did. For you. He did every bit of it for you and me. Oh yes, it is heavy. So heavy sometimes you do not think you can take one more step. But look up, because Sunday is coming.”

The arguments about Iran are so polarised that no one wants to admit that several things are true at once:

You'd be a fool not to have serious reservations about the idea of a regime change war, especially in the Middle East.

You'd also be a fool to allow terrorist-funding lunatics to develop nuclear weapons.

Neither the people condemning these strikes, nor the people cheering them on know how this is going to work out.

So far, Trump Administration interventions have been extraordinarily successful in achieving valid objectives within a highly limited scope.

The strikes on Iran during the 12 day war achieved destruction of several nuclear facilities.

The Venezuela operation decapitated the hostile regime and replaced Maduro with a non-hostile leader.

Both also achieved significant "don't fuck with us" deterrence globally.

However, it is not remotely clear at this moment in time whether something similar can be achieved in Iran.

I understand and fully empathise with the people who think regime change is not going to work in Iran and you'll end up with the same as what you had or worse.

And I understand just as much the people who celebrate an evil dictator being killed and Iran's nuclear and military assets being degraded further.

The thing we do not know, and the thing that will determine whether this has all been worth it, is what the future leadership of Iran will look like. This seems to me to be the biggest risk Donald Trump has taken at any time in his first or second term. If it pays off, the reward both domestically and globally will be huge. If it doesn't and things go south, it could derail his Presidency and define his legacy like Iraq did for Blair and Bush.

Very few people have any idea which of these scenarios is more likely and one thing is for sure: none of them are talking about it on social media because they're all sitting in command bunkers, not on X.

I hope the people of Iran are released from living under tyranny. I hope the peoples of the Middle East can live in peace.
I hope the takeaway for any would-be terrorist is the realisation that October 7 might not have been such a good idea.
I hope that with the Middle East stabilised, the US can turn its attentions to the theatres that really matters to the security of the West: Russia and China.

Whether any of that happens remains to be seen and it seems the hardest thing for anyone to do is to not express an opinion before the smoke has cleared.

Hace un año tuve una conversación con un amigo mío que defiende que un hombre puede convertirse en una mujer. Mi amigo me insistía en que un hombre que se mutila y se auto percibe mujer ya lo es. Mi amigo además es heterosexual y soltero.

En un momento le pregunto: “Raúl, te hago una pregunta, ¿formarías pareja con una “chica trans”?”. Raúl se queda pensativo y me dice: “padre….¿a qué vas con esa pregunta?”. Yo vuelvo a insistir: “responde a mi pregunta. ¿Te casarías con una “chica trans?” Muy frustrado me dice: “no, yo no lo haría”. Entonces ahí le pregunto: “¿Porqué?….Si según tu razonamiento “ella” es una mujer con solo auto percibirse como tal….no deberías tener problemas en casarte con ella. ¿Porqué eliges a una mujer nacida biológicamente como tal y no consideras a las mujeres trans como una posibilidad?”. Para hacerla corta no supo como responderme. Entonces le digo: “yo te voy a decir porqué no te casarías con una “mujer trans”. No lo haces porque en el fondo sabes que es un hombre mutilado. Lo sabes, aunque por tu ideología lo niegas. Pero ese es el verdadero motivo por el cual no te desposarías con una trans”. Mi amigo me miró y me dijo: “no quiero pelearme contigo. Cambiemos de tema”.

La ideología muere cuando se choca con la realidad. Nos quieren imponer que un hombre puede convertirse en una mujer y una mujer en un hombre. Bueno…yo quiero tener el derecho a guiarme por la biología. Si naciste hombre, serás hombre para siempre; lo mismo si naciste mujer.

De niño yo quería ser superman y si hubiese intentado saltar de un edificio y volar, la realidad me hubiese hecho encontrar la muerte. Gracias a Dios que tuve buenos padres que me hicieron distinguir entre la realidad y mi imaginación.

Si vamos contra la naturaleza, la podemos pagar muy caro; pues como bien dice el refrán; Dios perdona siempre, el hombre de vez en cuando, y la naturaleza NUNCA.
