These images are ‘Scarred Chest’, and ‘Branded Head’ from the 2003 series B®anded, by artist Hank Willis Thomas.
Thomas is also the artist behind ‘The Cotton Bowl’ (2011). As a matter of fact, the good brother Mark Anthony Neal used Thomas’s work as cover art for his book ‘Looking for LeRoy’.
