This is deeply embarrassing for Kemi Badenoch.

A story claiming Giorgia Meloni warned her against working with Reform UK was published, and Meloni’s team says it simply wasn’t true.

The claim has now been retracted.

If this came directly from the Conservatives, what on earth did they think would happen?

Did they seriously expect nobody to ask the Italian Prime Minister?

It raises serious questions about Badenoch’s judgement and her ability to lead a country like Britain.

Following a huge number of protests to his Facebook comments he has agreed it will now just be for the two dead officers.
The local MP Anne Turley did exactly the same.
