Thank you to everyone who supported me in yesterday’s election, I am truly overwhelmed! We had a brilliant night across Stockport, keeping the Conservatives out and taking two seats off Labour. Now it’s back to work and fighting for our communities and residents! 💛
Today’s experiment.
Tory MP Edward Leigh claimed expenses of £2,332 for heating last year, and £2,474 the year before that
Retweet this if you think he should pay for his own utility bills.
🚨 NEW: Oil giant Shell has just recorded £32,200,000,000 in profit – the highest in 115 years.
Will we see its corporate executives named and shamed for being “greedy”?
Or does that only apply to teachers and nurses fighting for fair pay?

“If we are going to do the right thing by patients and address the seven million waiting lists right across this country. Patients deserve better and our profession deserves better.”

Today our strike action begins, and nursing staff need your solidarity.
Share this if you stand with those fighting for a safer future for nursing, patients, and the NHS.

And through all that, we didn’t strike. We redeployed, we came back to work from retirement, we seperated from our loved ones to keep people safe. Nurses wouldn’t go through all that only to strike now unless it was the only way to be heard, because patients are at risk now
In 2020 these nurses were putting their lives at risk, without adequate #ppe, separating from their children for weeks on end, living in hotels, whilst those that made the rules were breaking them (& no amount of eating 🦘 bollocks on #imaceleb will change that) #NursesStrike
There was enough money to cover the disaster that was #testandtrace, enough money to pull rishi out the shit, and there always seems to be enough to keep MPs in pay rises. #NursesStrike#SupportTheStrikes
When I was in A&E with my son recently there was no where close to enough staff to meet the demand, and for the first time ever in the NHS hands, I didn’t feel safe #NursesStrike#SupportTheStrikes
When I started nurse training in 2007 2 things made it possible for me:
1. My tuition fees were covered
2. I had a small bursary of £300 a month. This didn’t go far with full time placements to travel to, but it helped. Tories have scrapped both these incentives #NursesStrike
I am absolutely convinced I could not have gotten through childbirth without the amazing midwives I had. I couldn’t even put into words what they do, but the way they made me feel meant I could do what felt impossible at the time #NursesStrike#supportnurses#SupportTheStrikes
I ASK EVERYONE WHO SEES THIS TWEET TO PLEASE RT IT.
Tomorrow nurses strike. They will be put through hell by the media, politicians and the establishment.
Ahead of the action please share this tweet if you back the nurses and find it sickening that they are being vilified.
