@danielt58649710 @coinmamba US news by comparison feels like straight up indoctrination no matter which channel you choose - facts are irrevocably intertwined with opinion by every single station.
@danielt58649710 @coinmamba Should clarify that arrests for rioting have been dispensed pretty well. Arrests for social media posts are pretty damn concerning and imo the media does fail at getting that point across. The primary role of the media is to warn of potential tyranny, which they largely fail at.
@coinmamba @danielt58649710 UK news skips some stories they shouldn't but there 100% isn't anywhere near the same level of bias - channel 4 generally reports similarly to bbc and itv, and all of them are way less biased than cnn or fox.
@0xrooter A system like this is indistinguishable from a competent insurer (not nexus lol) doing DD on a protocol in order to charge accurate premiums. Overall this style of auditing seems quite a bit more equitable, though doesn't work for smaller protocols.
@Auri_0x @tencryptoes For me, at 90c, the risk of USDC dropping another 15% was miniscule. On the other hand, BTC has and will drop 15% in minutes, arbitrarily, with little warning.
@0xShual I think there's a perhaps 3% chance that circle sees a gargantuan run and has to dump all their treasuries hurriedly - I'd expect $10-15bn redemptions this week. The sooner that they release info regarding financing to plug the hole until SVB can be claimed, the better.
@0xShual If there's a bailout: Everything back to normal by noon EST, yay.
If not: USDT premium and USDP discount eroded by noon. Would expect USDC to stay around 98c for around another week before quite slowly returning to peg. Majors likely track SPY.
@0xShual I am certainly a little surprised that USDC's still holding at 5% discount - I suppose my mental model of the situation at this point is that the prop desks any other optimists have bought as much USDC as they're comfortable with at this point, whilst retail sell flows are huge.
@0xShual The total amount of USDT to be borrowed with USDC as collateral at this point is less than $50m on-chain. This is just nowhere near enough to bring USDC close to parity.
