I’ve been fighting for a ticket for my mother in the past 2 months. Delta finally resumes flights but a black market quickly formed regarding US- China tickets. They take all the tickets from Delta and resell them at $8000-10000 one way. ⁦@Delta⁩ https://t.co/h4fTu8Py6Z

There is a black market regarding tickets from US- China, customer will not be able to secure ticket from official website. The tickets were taken by black agencies and resell to customer by 3 times more. Delta has a long way to go to protect customers.

@Delta There is black market for US-China flight tickets. Someone takes up all the seats as soon as it’s available and resell them to customers. Price for One way ticket from SEA- PVG was $10,000. Please investigate!

@Delta A black market of US- CHINA flight tickets quickly formed recently. As soon as tickets were released to markets, some agencies/ individuals are able to take them immediately and resale to customers. One way ticket from DTW- PVG in July is sold at 10K !! Please investigate

@Dancingshaman2 Not necessarily. Most of the time, we don’t wait until patient crashes. Many evidence shown the survival benefits of early intubation.

@ePatientDave 30% was really the lowest estimation I’ve heard (unpublished data from single hospital in Shanghai). The literature shows way much higher mortality rate. “Lancet, Feb 24, 2020, xiaobo Yang et al” reported 19/22 intubated patients died (86%).

Dear fellow colleagues, when you are about to intubate a COVID patient, will you please slow down and ask them if they have any words for their beloved ones ? The data shows about 30% of them, unfortunately, may never have the chance to say “I love you” again.

@gerspice There are some literatures shows higher number, 57%, 76%. 30% was anecdotal experience from Shanghai, not published. I’d like to think the number would be lower if we do well.

@jaskierthebard3 Depends on situation. If patients are stable, then it’s a controlled organized fashion of intubation. If patients is coding (active dying), then the most urging fact is to put a tube in ASAP, at that point, most patients have already lost conscious bc other crashing factors

@okyoudoknowJack COVID patients seem to tolerate hypoxia much better than we thought. The guidelines suggest intubate early rather than later. I guess many of us wouldn’t wait until it’s an emergent airway situation.

@Mvmnt_Is_Med @laxswamy A Lancet paper published on March 10, 2020 reported 191 patients in Wuhan, their mortality rate for intubated patients were 57%. However, Wuhan had higher overall mortality compared to other cities. The estimation of 30% was from Shanghai. Italy may be much higher

@lsjanik @SapnaKmd You may be right... the population in this Lancet paper was from Wuhan, where the mortality rate was higher than other cities in China. 30% was a rough estimation, which was shared by a physician in Shanghai, not official number though.
