In this book review I’m sharing my thoughts on THE ODYSSEY: A GRAPHIC NOVEL: DELUXE EDITION, written and illustrated by author @garethhinds

This incredible adaptation brings Homer’s legendary story to life through action, adventure, Greek mythology, and absolutely amazing illustrations. Gareth Hinds does a fantastic job turning this ancient epic into an exciting and understandable reading experience for kids today.

Happy to spend time reading aloud to children and sharing book joy with families at @FairytaleTown in my Sacramento community. It was Animal Planet Week at Fairytale Town, so I read COME BY CHANCE, a cherished picture book from my childhood by author Madeleine Winch

To help celebrate the day, my nonprofit also gave out brand new animal themed books to children & families. Thank you to everyone who donates and supports my literacy initiative.

THE 9:09 PROJECT by author @MarkHParsons is a truly special read. It’s a young adult novel that shares the perspective of Jamison, a teen who copes with the grief of his mother’s death by starting a photography project where he takes pictures at the same time and place, at 9:09 PM, each night as way to honor his mother and help him hold onto his memories.

As a way of celebrating Parsons’ unique and powerful writing, I started a new book review project, “Questions in a Bottle.”

Author Mark H. Parsons’ writing is fresh, original and raw. “The 9:09 Project” is an absolute 10/10 must read!
