“Canadians deserve more than vague bravado, Mr. Poilievre - they need a roadmap.
That is exactly what Prime Minister Carney is providing.
We have a leader with a mind sharpened by REASON.”
🟥 Dearest Mr. Poilievre ✍️🏼,
I took note yesterday, Sir, of your lamentable notions on the tariffs that have visited our beloved Canada.
Your words, dressed up without solutions, are hollow echoes of a worn-out creed, ill-suited to the trials of our Dominion.
We can certainly agree that Trump’s tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminium are “wrong and unjustified”.
However to then just call for a “strong stance” without offering a clear path forward of your OWN, is to brandish a sword with no edge. 🤷🏻♂️
We are presently engaged in intensive discussions with the Americans, regarding matters of trade. Moreover, we have imposed counter-tariffs exceeding ninety billion dollars on goods from the United States... 🤌🏼
For now, why not take a seat, Sir, at that fine dining table there at Stornoway, wrought at the public’s expense ... and allow those VERSED in such affairs to carry on their labours?
Trade isn’t a game of moral absolutes - it’s a gritty reality shaped by economic compressions.
Merely calling for a “strong stance” without offering a shred of strategy, is like shouting at a storm to stop. 🙄
Would you have Canada rush headlong into a trade war?? 👀
Canadians deserve more than vague bravado, Mr. Poilievre - they need a roadmap.
That is exactly what Prime Minister Carney is providing.
We have a leader with a mind sharpened by REASON.
Then there’s your usual tired refrain about slashing spending, debt, and taxes to “unleash free enterprise for real growth.”
It sounds catchy, but it is a refrain as OLD as it is hollow.
You pin inflation solely on Liberal spending, but that is a misleading mischaracterization, Sir.
Global storms, supply chain ruptures, soaring energy costs, market shocks - rage BEYOND our borders, and your narrow blame sidesteps those REAL issues.
Assigning blame while ignoring the bigger picture is lazy.
And your call of unfettered, deregulated commerce is an antiquated nostrum - a recycled idea that’s been failing the working people of Canada for DECADES.
It damages the environment, makes corporations richer, but leaves ordinary people worse off.
You, sir, GLORY in boasting about the millions of Canadian who voted for you, yet you wield their trust as a cudgel rather than a compass.
True leadership does not merely rail against rivals but offers a VISION grounded in pragmatism.
Where is YOUR plan to shield our industries from foreign caprice??
Your talk of “real growth” is like a fleeting mist - pretty to behold, yet vanished under the scrutiny of sunlight. 🤌🏼
Your words, adorned with the veneer of righteous zeal, are but a brittle edifice of rhetoric, ill equipped to bear the weight of our nation’s trials.
I find your pronouncements, as always, WANTING, and lacking honest intent.
We’re navigating a challenging world, Mr. Poilievre - trade wars, global inflation, and housing crises don’t vanish with catchy slogans.
Canadians need a leader with a practical vision, not a megaphone for outdated ideas.
In these trying times, when Canada stands at the crossroads of economic peril, we require more than the bombast of yesteryear.
We need a leader whose vision is tempered by pragmatism, not one who peddles slogans in lieu of solutions.
And fortunately, we HAVE just such a pragmatic leader, in Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Yours in stern rebuke,
Fun Tom

No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, please watch this.
@PierrePoilievre is always talking about common sense.
Is this not a boatload of common sense?
I know some of you hate the guy, but how is this message not something to be proud of?

@iceTyyc Not alot of what the UCP are doing makes any sense. Mining the western slopes when rivers run dry. Alberta pension plan. Not promoting flu and Covid vaccines..dividing up AHS..and so much more...But Ya'all voted for them didn't you.
@DonBraid My whole household has Covid. We don't even count in the numbers. I'm on Paxlovid due to preexisiting condition. We are isolating..taking care not to spread. This government doesn't represent us, unfortunately. It's unnerving to live in Alberta.
@lindajohnsonyyc@STARSambulance I used to be so sad whenever I saw Stars, but I heard a Mom whose child was in Stars who said not to feel that way.
The person has a chance or else they wouldn't be in there, so now I cheer them on and yell Go! Go! Go! at the sky.
So much respect for @STARSambulance

All those hours spent ‘Mainstreeting’ in Calgary-West community at events, LRT, etc only to find out after election that I apparently know EVERYONE @ grocery store from 4-6 pm. Hugs & convos in every aisle! 😂
@erinchrusch@EdmCathSchools That's awesome as well but I'd like to see message to the community. My kids are long out of CCSD. But I care about public institutions making thier stance known. It helps all to understand better
