@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake In a perfect world, sure. But that’s not how it is. You don’t have many options for providers, for various reasons, and far too often it is pressure & coercion, not proactive intervention. It happens more & more, noticeably. And it should be scrutinized imo.
@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake I don’t think drs hold meetings or send memos saying “this is how we do birth now so we can make $”. But I do think mainstreaming c-sections as an “option” instead of an occasional emergency procedure opens the door for the drs that will take advantage for self serving reasons
@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake Yes that the increase of c sections is suspicious. And I believe it is. Do you think women are losing their ability to birth? That clinical conditions have declined? What would be the reason? What regression occurred? It makes no logical sense.
@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake To who? I didn’t make a general announcement, It was a response about this topic. I advise my daughters, privately, not to be coerced & to trust their body and I stand by that. No apologies.
@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake I didn’t have a bad birth experience. I didn’t make any numerical claim. I said many young moms are having c sections & no, I don’t think they’re all necessary. It isn’t normal, it’s literally abnormal. I’d rather think it’s about $ vs control, but ultimately probably convenience
@DuncannonPaul@BlackSheepAwake Lol It’s called an opinion, based on experience. And here you are trying to shame me for it.
If you readily & emphatically even accept 1 woman going through trauma & surgery unnecessarily, & chalk it up to “but it doesn’t happen *that* much”, that’s the problematic attitude imo.
@DuncannonPaul@MeechyMalandro@BlackSheepAwake Nothing is generalizable you all people. Natural is always better. Who would say differently? Doesn’t mean it’s always an option, obviously. But what was once an emergency procedure should not be an option for the sake of convenience.
@DuncannonPaul@Britt98048029@BlackSheepAwake Here’s some other data. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy and in never said I did. It’s a lack of investing the time to allow the process to occur naturally, be it for convenience (the drs and/or mother’s) or money imo.
@DuncannonPaul@Britt98048029@BlackSheepAwake The chances of infection are significantly lower with vagina birth. Look it up. A 30%+ rate of c-section is not reality. Nor is thinking natural is a word that needs quotations 🤮
@DuncannonPaul@MeechyMalandro@BlackSheepAwake The mortality rates were not sky high “back in the day” compares to today. And those deaths weren’t because babies were stuck in the birth canal, they were mostly infection bc of unsterile conditions.
@tryyagainmf@BlackSheepAwake I barely made it to the hospital with my last I waited so long. Not that I suggest that, but you’re absolutely right about the idle time. Especially when they hook you up to fluids and monitors and you can’t move around freely.
