@DuncannonPaul @BlackSheepAwake In a perfect world, sure. But that’s not how it is. You don’t have many options for providers, for various reasons, and far too often it is pressure & coercion, not proactive intervention. It happens more & more, noticeably. And it should be scrutinized imo.

But I do think mainstreaming c-sections as an “option” instead of an occasional emergency procedure opens the door for the drs that will take advantage for self serving reasons

@DuncannonPaul @BlackSheepAwake I didn’t have a bad birth experience. I didn’t make any numerical claim. I said many young moms are having c sections & no, I don’t think they’re all necessary. It isn’t normal, it’s literally abnormal. I’d rather think it’s about $ vs control, but ultimately probably convenience

@tryyagainmf @BlackSheepAwake I barely made it to the hospital with my last I waited so long. Not that I suggest that, but you’re absolutely right about the idle time. Especially when they hook you up to fluids and monitors and you can’t move around freely.
