An amazing lesson in showing up and regarding the @ScottPresler dust up in SD and the “golden ticket”.

Back story - I told my wife I wanted to come to SD to in part, meet Scott, do what I could to help bring pressure regarding the Save America Act, and take the temperature of Republicans on the ground in SD to see what they thought of the majority leader. (Poll results coming soon in @trailertrshnews).

I luckily got to meet Scott and he is all class in person and just radiates energy.

We were discussing the situation and he expressed a desire to go to the social event/dinner after the SDGOP meetings were concluded for the day.

Scott didn’t have a ticket, but I did. BTW - I registered as independent press (for Trailer Trash News) - and nowhere did the registration indicate that press were not welcome.

I felt it was more important for Scott to be in the room than myself. No one knows me - but Scott’s very presence creates pressure.

So I gave him my ticket, and gladly. He called it “the golden ticket”, and as this dust up has shown - even though he didn’t get to attend - the political outcome has indeed been golden for anyone that cares about holding our elected leaders accountable.

Showing up is half the battle. When you show up a world of opportunities may present themselves that would not be available if you stayed home on the couch.

It’s an important lesson for anyone who thinks that they can’t make a difference.

Show up - and let the universe decide.

Denver City Council blocked Denver International Airport from leasing space to Key Lime Air, because the airline worked with ICE.

There was just one problem…

It violates FAA rules.

So what did they do?

City attorney Miko Brown allegedly urged the airport to fabricate an investigation into the airline’s safety record to cover up for illegally discriminating against the airline for political reasons.

When word got out, Brown and Mayor Mike Johnston flat out denied it.

However CBS just obtained an internal airport memo appearing to reveal the entire thing was true.

City officials conspired to discriminate against a private company for political reasons then lied about it to cover it up‼️

🚨 🚨 THE SD GOP HAS 3 OPTIONS AFTER THE PRESLER DISASTER. ALL 3 ARE CATASTROPHIC.

This is the moment nobody wants to talk about.

After denying Scott Presler entry with a ticket in hand, putting a BOLO photo of him at the door, and getting caught on video saying "Get the hell outta here" → the South Dakota Republican Party is now boxed into THREE choices. And every single one is a nightmare:

⚠️ OPTION 1: PRETEND IT WAS JUST ONE BAD ACTOR
– Fire the Sergeant at Arms, issue an apology, call it a day
– Ignore the fact that Chairman Eschenbaum confirmed Thune asked Presler not to attend
– Let Thune off the hook entirely
– The base notices. They always notice.
– The grassroots remembers who ran the BOLO photo operation

⚠️ OPTION 2: FULLY INVESTIGATE AND HOLD LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABLE
– Acknowledge that Senate Majority Leader Thune's office was involved
– Demand answers for why a man with a ticket was turned away with a photo at the door
– Risk a civil war between the Thune establishment wing and the Presler grassroots wing
– Blow up the unity the Chairman just called for in his apology
– Open the door to a censure resolution that's already being filed

⚠️ OPTION 3: DO NOTHING AND HOPE IT BLOWS OVER
– Watch Presler's video of the denial rack up millions of views
– Watch the censure resolution against Thune move forward anyway
– Let the base conclude that the SD GOP protects establishment senators over grassroots activists
– Lose the very voters Presler has been registering
– Hand Democrats a gift-wrapped story about Republican infighting

Let that sink in.

There is no Option 4. There is no clean exit. There is no "we fired one guy and now it's over."

The media is showing you a firing and an apology.

They're NOT showing you that the Chairman himself confirmed Thune asked Presler to stay away — and that a censure resolution against Thune is already on the floor.

This is the most damaging internal GOP moment in South Dakota in years.

He and his mustache have agreed to pay a $2.25 MILLION fine, face up to 60 MONTHS in prison, and forfeit his pension.

My name is Scott Presler.

I’m an Eagle Scout & son of a retired Navy Captain.

Matt Bruner and his own "Cow Money"

He is involved in Limousin cattle breeding (foreman at Bruner Limousin, a family operation) and has been active in South Dakota Republican politics. He served as a 2016 RNC delegate from SD and recently gained attention as Sergeant at Arms at a state GOP event (he was relieved of those duties after an incident with Scott Presler).

He served as a temporary/event-specific Sergeant at Arms (not a core leadership position in the bylaws) at a recent 2026 GOP event. He was relieved of those duties afterward but holds no ongoing elected role in the Executive Board or Central Committee structure.

He's been making some changes to his Facebook page this morning. 🙄
