Last nights training (if it ain't raining, it ain't training!) was all about navigation, including the use of a compass and paper maps, as you can't always rely on electronic devices.
Not the best night for outdoor training so 👏👏👏 to everyone who turned out.
The team are out once again on a training exercise in the Aberfraw area refreshing their knowledge on how to deal with finding a missing person with Autism. There will also be the usual casualty packaging and stretcher carrying training !
The team were called out at 02.00 Hrs this morning to assist NWP in a search for a high risk vulnerable male in the Amlwch area.
Thankfully the person was located safe and well by the R936 helicopter just as team members were arriving on scene.
I don't think many people appreciate that the UK's #search & rescue network includes (and relies heavily upon) 14,000 highly trained #volunteers! Last night, in very challenging conditions, 60 of those 14,000 went out to save a life! "Thank you" just ain't enough. "Well done" all
