Over the past few days in different areas of Serampore Assembly, I have personally met hundreds of people during campaign, who, despite having valid documents, are left out from electoral role who were marked “under adjudication” in SIR. This video is a clear example.

In the coming days, I will do a protest march in Serampore with all of them. Today, our National General Secretary @abhishekaitc visited the ECI office as serious concerns emerge about voters being added from outside through Form 6 silently.

If genuine Bengali voters are being denied their fundamental rights while questionable entries are being allowed, it raises grave questions about the intent behind this process. After all this, does @BJP4India deserve even a single vote from Bengal?

If this is the “PARIVARTAN” BJP promises Bengal- abuse, vulgarity and attacks on our Chief Minister- then Bengal rejects it outright. Insulting her is an insult to every Bengali and every woman of this state.

গত বারো বছরে একের পর এক অমানবিক সিদ্ধান্ত সাধারণ মানুষের জীবনে অনিশ্চয়তা, কষ্ট ও দুর্ভোগ ডেকে এনেছে। মানুষের সেবা করার বদলে আজ তাদেরই অপমানিত ও হয়রানির শিকার হতে হচ্ছে।

যে সরকার মানুষের ন্যূনতম প্রয়োজন মেটাতে ব্যর্থ এবং মানুষের মর্যাদা রক্ষা করতে পারে না, সেই সরকারের ক্ষমতায় থাকার নৈতিক অধিকার নিয়েই প্রশ্ন ওঠে।

The Board will provide an institutional platform for regular dialogue and coordination between the trading community and the Government, with representation from every district of the State. It will work to address the concerns of lakhs of traders.

The Chairperson of the Board will be the President of the Confederation of West Bengal Traders Association (CWBTA), the State’s apex body of traders, ensuring strong representation from the community itself.

All the Modi Government seems capable of doing is forcing the poor and vulnerable of this country into never-ending queues, from demonetisation to the unplanned lockdown, from the desperate scramble for oxygen during COVID-19 to the SIR exercise and now the LPG crisis.

This is a government far more obsessed with branding, image management, and PR than with the everyday struggles of ordinary Indians. The “Photo Mantri” once spoke about harvesting inflammable gas from a gutter using nothing more than a pipe and a utensil to make tea.

If that “simple technology” is so revolutionary, why not deploy it now to resolve the raging LPG crisis engulfing the country?

This government has failed the nation at every critical juncture. For that failure, PM Modi and his entire Cabinet should tender their resignations.

For the record: “Jana Gana Mana”, written by Rabindranath Tagore, is India’s National Anthem. The National Song is “Vande Mataram” by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

When people unfamiliar with Bengal’s culture and history try to lecture Bengal, such blunders are inevitable.

The International Santal Council invited the Hon'ble President; the district administration had already warned Rashtrapati Bhavan about poor arrangements. Protocol was followed exactly as approved and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was never in the lineup. No lapse.

Yet @BJP4India keeps twisting facts. Sad, the President stayed silent on a grave issue in the very place she visited, a large number (almost 8-9K) of tribal names deleted in the SIR voter list.

From the Election Commission to the President’s chair, BJP has crossed every limit to capture Bengal. But this time too, they will fail.

International Santal Council, a private organisation, invited Hon’ble President to the 9th International Adivasi Santal Conference in Siliguri.

After Advanced Security Liaison, district administration flagged in writing to the President’s Secretariat that the organiser appeared inadequately prepared; the concern was also conveyed telephonically (For relevant letters and photographs, see my related facebook post)

The President’s Secretariat advance team visited on 05.03.26, was apprised of the lack of arrangements, yet the programme continued as scheduled.

Hon’ble President was received and seen off by Mayor Siliguri Municipal Corporation, DM Darjeeling and CP Siliguri Police Commissionerate strictly as per the approved lineup shared by the President’s Secretariat. CM, West Bengal was not part of the lineup or the dais plan. No protocol lapse happened on part of district administration.

BJP is disrespecting and misusing the highest chair in the country for its own party agenda. Most unfortunate.
