Sid Meier's Pirates! on the C64. My #1 game of all time. The entire Caribbean on one floppy disk in 1987. Before GTA. Before Assassin's Creed. This was the game. 🏴☠️ @gamesyouloved#RetroGaming#Commodore64#c64reposts
The epic space trading classic for the Commodore 64, ELITE, is now "flicker-free." Download the enhanced C64 game here: https://t.co/jAsYlajEDc
I used to spend countless hours, probably even days, playing this on my C64. Who else loved it?
I'm excited to try this 'flicker-free' version this weekend. A huge shoutout to all the amazing C64 programmers who continue to release games for us to enjoy.
The perfect companion to the bible plugin for READYChat is biblesearch. You can search 4 different translations for full words or short phrases. Returns up to 15 results per request with "book chapter:verse" references. You can specify the results offset. #C64#Bible
Leaderboard Golf (1986), developed by Bruce and Roger Carver for Access Software (US Gold in Europe), launched an acclaimed series with four water-hazard courses. It pioneered the "three-click" swing mechanics—power, snap, release—setting a new standard for golf realism on the Commodore 64 and offering up to 72 holes.
Players were amazed by the C64's smoothest 3D golf visuals, featuring calculated terrain, ball flight shadows, and swooshing swing sound effects.
I spent hours playing this game; it got me into golf later on. Leaderboard offered serene courses. Despite slow redraws, it is one of the best games ever! Do you agree?
The year is 1983.
And thinking back, I seem to recall that is was a bloody great year to be alive!
And in 42 years from now, what will people be saying about 2025? 🤔
