We don't have that luxury, but we do have numbers so we account for the different circumstances to more fairly compare these numbers.

If after adjustment Gretzky has 2.22pts/playoff game he is still leading the all time list. So it is saying he is still the best in that regard when you calculate for the differences. It's not that they are subpar it's that they are different.
