First source of income I have is learning a high income skill set... aka trading & investing.
Investing is more for long term gains, where you're buying assets and letting your money grow over time.
Trading is more active, where you can make money whether the market is going up or down based on current price action.
This is really where you start to
understand how money actually works
And how to use your money to make more money... instead of always trading your time for it.
Trading becomes simpleโonce you truly understand the skill.
Master the basics:
โขKnow your fundamentals
โขDo your technical analysis
โขWait patiently for your setup
โขExecute with confidence
โขExit when the market tells you to
The process isnโt complicated.
What holds most people back isnโt knowledgeโitโs discipline.
TRADER CONFESSION OF THE DAY!๐ญ
I only make use of the learnings
- of my mentor
- self-study of available resources
- practice & backtest; backtest & practice & repeat
- keep discipline intact
- control emotions
This has made me arrest my losses over the years - if u don't lose, then u can surely win. ๐ช๐ฝ I focus on not losing big, winning follows.
Yet, markets are pretty uncertain perennially. Risk Management is non-negotiableโผ๏ธ
Trading can be both freedom and bondage.
It becomes freedom when you respect the rulesโwhen you stay disciplined, patient, and intentional with every move.
But the moment you start breaking those rules, it turns into bondageโdriven by emotions, impulsive decisions, and costly mistakes.
Same market. Same opportunities.
Different outcomeโbased on your discipline.
Ranking the hardest steps in trading:
1. Discipline is the hardest part of trading because you will always have the urge to try a setup you never tried, or do something you never done. Stick to your A+ setups
2. A+ setups (very hard to find in the beginning) and the only way to find them is from another profitable trader. Back test the strategy by looking rich at how often it works over past 200+ days
3. Patienceโฆ a lot of times you just simply revenge trading and if you wouldโve waited on your perfect setup, you wouldnโt need to play catch up each day. Sometimes that setup you like happens after 1pm est instead of in the am. Donโt think youโll make every dime on in the morning.
4. Risk managementโฆ this isnโt that hardโฆ itโs just a basically stay disciplined with keeping the same RM every trade.
Financial Literacy Is Self-Respect
Learning about money is not greedy.
Itโs self-respect.
Itโs saying:
โI care about my future.โ
โI want options.โ
โI want peace, not stress.โ
Every time you choose to learn even quietly youโre growing stronger.
Keep going. ๐

Trading is the only career where your boss is your own discipline.
No manager.
No deadlines.
No one telling you what to do.
Just you. Your rules.
And whether you follow them.
That freedom is the reward.
But it's also the test.
Every time there's war news, markets fall. Every time markets fall, people panic sell. Every time they panic sell, they lock in losses.
Kargil 1999 - market recovered in months. Gulf War 1990 - market recovered in
months.
Russia-Ukraine 2022 - market recovered in months.
Wars feel permanent. Market recoveries feel slow.
But zoom out - they always happened.
Don't let news headlines destroy your 10-year investment plan.
Stop trying to time the market. Start spending time IN the market.
Every expert who said "market will crash soon" in 2020 - Nifty went from 7,500 to 26,000.
Every person who waited for the "right time" - missed it.
The best strategy? Invest regularly. Stay invested. Ignore the noise. Boring? Yes. Effective? 100%.
The Indian middle class saves โน100.
Spends โน40 on EMIs. Invests โน8.
And wonders why wealth never grows.
We are a nation of savers, not investors. FD at 7% vs Nifty 50 at ~13% CAGR over 20 years - the math is brutal.
Where is YOUR money sitting right now?
At 22, I thought investing โน1,000/month was pointless.
"Such a small amount - what difference will it make?"
At 32, that โน1,000/month had turned into 2.3 lakhs.
Without me doing anything.
Small steps compounded over time create big results.
Stop waiting for the "right" amount. Start with what you have
Unpopular opinion: A home is NOT always a good investment.
โน80 lakh home loan at 9% for 20 years = you pay โน1.72 Cr total.
The same โน40,000 EMI invested in mutual funds = โน3.8 Cr in 20 years.
Before buying a house, ask: Am I buying it for need or for ego?
Both answers are valid. But know the difference.

Nobody teaches you this in school:
- 50% of income โ needs (rent, food, bills)
- 30% โ wants (lifestyle, fun)
- 20% โ investments (SIP, stocks, PPF)
This is the 50-30-20 rule.
It won't make you rich overnight.
But followed for 10 years? Life changes completely.
Two friends. Same salary. Same city.
Friend A: Buys iPhone every year โ โนO savings
Friend B: Invests โน8,000/month in index fund โ โน32 lakhs in 15 years
One has the latest phone. One has financial freedom.
Your habits decide your future - not your salary.
