@Rushali70929058 I think ppl are going to cherish moments bc of social distancing. I was reading an article that said a pandemic is a crisis and there is expected trauma. This can create ptsd, anxiety, depression, etc. I think this makes us appreciate our lives & those in it more #rudcim_sp20

@rutgers_maria I would say my tech usage has become a problem. At first, it was nice to have a break from attending classes. But now, there is nothing to do but stay home. I am always online (social media, Youtube,FT, etc). Therefore, I am trying things like puzzles, reading, etc #rudcim_sp20

The internet certainly makes our lives easier. We can reach ppl through text, email, facetime, etc within seconds. Ppl who are internet addicts are more prone to mental & physical illness. It can make you depressed and anti social. Those outside seem happier #RUDCIM_SP20

@VINCENT45656352 This reminds me of when we watched “Netizens” and the women’s lives were nearly ruined bc of their toxic relationships that lead to cyberstalking. Even tho the relationships were over, the women still experienced fear and trauma. Their careers suffered immensely #RUDCIM_SP20

@JeffKandathil I would watch beauty gurus on my free time on Youtube. I would scroll down the comments & some videos would have countless hate speech. I know these gurus aren’t invincible & these comments bother them. Cyber bullying can happen to anyone #RUDCIM_SP20

@FionaMcLoughli9 I have noticed celebrities putting restrictions on certain posts bc they must receive thousands of hate comments. Sometimes it would be about the post (being too skinny) or ppl would write hateful comments irrelevant to the post (recent scandal). #RUDCIM_SP20

Last May, Youtube beauty guru Jaclyn Hill created 20 lipsticks under her own brand name & it was a whole drama. Ppl complained the lipsticks were rough, had lint, & melted fast. Ppl also sent pictures of the lipsticks & were sending hate comments & she deleted IG. #RUDCIM_SP20

I am not apart of a social virtual world. However, being apart of the Sims community is a perfect example. You are able to design your avatar to your liking. You are also able to create and design your home. Your avatar can complete activities to your liking. #rudcim_sp20

@ahmedh565656 Renninger mentions that the LGBTQ+ is a great example of a marginalized group creating their own counterpublic. In western culture we are just beginning to accept LGBTQ+. A sexual identity as asexuality is not widely accepted or even considered. #rudcim_sp20
