8月9日、駐日アルメニア共和国大使モニカ・シモニャン閣下は、長崎への原爆投下から81年を迎えるにあたり、犠牲者を追悼する記念行事に出席しました。
平和公園で行われた式典では、大使は原爆の犠牲者に1分間の黙祷を捧げ、その前日には原爆の犠牲となった方々を追悼する慰霊碑に献花しました。

8月6日、モニカ・シモニャン駐日アルメニア大使は、広島への原爆投下81周年を記念する平和記念式典に参列しました。
今年の式典には、日本政府要人や広島市民に加え、121の国と地域の代表が出席し、原爆犠牲者に哀悼の意を表するとともに、世界の恒久平和の実現を祈念しました。
