Most people scrolled past that detail.
We didn't.
Because the name MONK wasn't random, it traces back decades.

At 11 years old, a biochemistry teacher handed Durov a book he'd written himself: The Illusion of Paradise. It walked through, chemically, what happens inside your body the moment you take a drink, a pill, a hit of anything.

Most kids forget books like that.

Durov built the next three decades around it.

No alcohol. No caffeine. No meat. Not as a wellness trend, as a decision made once, at 11, and never revisited.

Some people are still negotiating with themselves at 40 about things he settled before puberty.
