There are many situations where compromise is indistinguishable from failure in the long term, or, what is framed as a reasonable compromise between the two sides is nothing but a delay of the victory of one.

The retardation of moderation.

For example, in a situation where a minimum level of upkeep is necessary to sustain something, if one side seeks to sustain, while the other seeks to destroy, there is no middle-ground which is not actually one side getting what it desires, albeit at a slower or faster rate.

If the compromise is to do a degree of upkeep which is above the minimum necessary to sustain it, then the sustain side gets what it wants, but if it is below, then the destroy side does, even if the upkeep below the minimum sustains the system for some time before failing.

Although this is obvious, it is nevertheless extremely common.

People will mistakenly assume that extreme positions are more wrong than moderate ones, seeing them as more likely to be corrupted by zealotry and dogmatic thinking than whatever is between them.

Another example: If a rogue captain is sailing the cruise ship directly at a cliff face, and others are suggesting that they don't do that, then any compromise that doesn't result in turning the ship sufficiently enough to avoid a collision is retarded.

Anyway, I say all this because this is what modern society is like: One side is working towards making European ethnicities minorities in every single country in the West, denigrating and erasing their culture and history, framing them as history's greatest villains, forcibly redistributing the accumulated land and wealth of their ancestors, and so on; while the other is simply saying "No. I don't accept this," that is, we must turn the ship.

Thus, there is no compromise to be made with these people; becoming ethnic minorities in our own countries is unacceptable, having our history rewritten and our ancestors demonized is unacceptable, having our ability to fight against these monstrous acts is unacceptable.

There is no compromise, no sensible centrist position, no reasonable moderation, and, crucially, there is no time to pretend like there is.

Systems do not govern; people do.

Furthermore, the people in control of those systems will inevitably alter them to suit their desired mode of governance.

Thus, any system will be a reflection of, and will only be as good as, the people running it — or, from another angle, any system, no matter how great and robust it is, will still be constrained by the quality of the people it is comprised of.

The quality and the innate desires of the people are fundamental and inextricable.

Makes sense that low/no agency beings view the world in such a way, as if things just happen and are beyond their control.

Also, women regularly have 'nature' inflicted upon them in hard to ignore ways, through menstruation and hormones and such, which perhaps lends itself to them thinking in such a way. Conversely, men are quite robust to such afflictions and are more likely to experience afflictions as a result of their direct actions.

But there are obviously many subtleties and nuances to this, just highlighting one aspect.

I wonder if their desire for prison abolition and similar pursuits is just an expression of their genuine naivete towards how awful some people are.

They just genuinely struggle to imagine that there are people who are naturally inclined towards criminality and antisocial behaviours, and on some level they suspect or feel that such claims must be exaggerated and that it's all really just a smokescreen to cover up the rampant abuse and wrongful imprisonment of the poor, downtrodden masses by the elites.

"Surely nobody would actually behave that way", they think, "and if they did they must have had a good reason, since I can only imagine myself behaving like that if I had a really good reason to do so, and everyone is fundamentally the same so this must be the case."

Even when they are faced with the most egregious examples of such behaviour they never believe it is the responsibility of the perpetrator and rather it is some external force that has caused them to become this way, like a poor abused dog lashing out because the world has been so cruel to it.

"He just needs more love, the poor thing. How can you turn your back on him? How can you be so cruel?"

Anyway, kill 'em all I say.

They also seem to often adopt a parenting style of raising "Free-range" children.

As if the highest thing they can aspire to as parents is to completely abdicate their duties and any attempt at trying to guide their children and instead leave it to their children to actively request guidance or consent to it first.

In reality it is a way of freeing oneself from responsibility and any hard decisions while framing it as a virtue.

This is also why older, more active and involved styles of parenting are demonized, as is often seen in popular culture.

Also, their hands-off approach adds insult to injury when they later admonish their children for their shortcomings and lack of achievement and have no sense whatsoever of their contribution (or lack thereof) to this state of affairs.

Women like this fear being judged in any sexual way—on any metric related to beauty—because they are afraid they wouldn't make the cut and would therefore not be protected or provided for.

In other words, they fear the entire concept of their value being at all determined by their beauty because they don't feel confident they would fare well under such a valuation. It triggers instinctual fear and anxiety in them.

They want to have intrinsic, unconditional value, and thus lash out at any assertion that this is not how the world works.

These people think that telling people what actually happened is a kind of lying since it reinforces a worldview that they believe isn't real.

They think: "Yes it was real in this particular instance, but most of the time it isn't, so if you tell people truths that will lead them to believe those falsehoods, then you are actually lying and therefore we should suppress these truths."

The possibility that they are wrong doesn't factor in; they 'know' they are right, and that they are fighting for 'truth' and 'what's right', and this way they can endlessly justify lying and downplaying horrors and whatever other monstrous behaviour serves their interests.

Some people say that we'd be better off without non-Whites in Western countries;
