Brotherhood.

He stares at the old photos.
Almost texts her.
Doesn’t.
His friend says:
“Bro just move on.”
He laughs.
“Yeah. Working on it.”
He misses her.
He misses the version of himself that felt wanted.
He picks up his phone again.
Types:
“I miss you.”
Stops.
Deletes it.
Instead, he puts the phone down and goes for a walk.
It doesn’t fix everything.
But he didn’t go back to what hurt him.
That’s progress too.
