When dogs are deaf or blind or confused (or all of the above) as in Red’s case, they rely heavily on their sense of smell. It’s many times stronger than ours. Last night Jeff came home after a week away and Red, in his own way said, “I love you dad.”

Mitzi has been with us for just a few days, she fits right in and is an absolute doll. She will be paying a visit to Dr Knight for a physical, bloodwork, urine, fecal and to have her eyes and lungs looked at.

Jack and Loretta want to be fed in bowls from now on (the duck and the hen).

Lt. Dan tried to turn himself completely brown by digging a huge hole and rolling in it.

Dottie is minding the heat much less since she paid a visit to Aunt Sandie from Di-ooh-geez. Don't let her side eye fool you, she is as sweet and loving as they come.

Grabbed this pic of Aunt Beth before Fuzzy was groomed. She was working on Herc, he had a massage and was sound asleep before she even got to the cold laser.
Fuzzy decided Herc was feeling plenty good enough and now it was his turn. Poor Aunt Beth, how do you say, “not just yet"

It’s a boy!! Please join us in welcoming Benny (aka Baby Man Benedict) from our friends at South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter. Benny is about 700 years old, blind, mostly deaf, full of bumps, arthritis, head tilt and has trouble walking. Challenge accepted.

All of the animals are pretty special here. Our hen leaves us fresh eggs on the windshield washer most mornings. Meadow’s bloodwork came back much improved from last time. She appears to be a bit more comfy but then again none of us are moving much in this heat.

These two pups, Chase and Rocky just realized they are next on the bath list. Chase is a rockstar for bathing and grooming. Rocky is an 11 armed octopus. I always try to stop before he gets upset but I, the wall, the floor and anything near the tub will get soaked...

Jeff took our dog Carbon to the bay, he made sure Dottie came along for the ride. Darla is claiming it was all her idea so thank you Darla for making sure Jeff, Carbon and Dottie had a great time.

What dog doesn’t love to bask in the sun? Herc and Red are no exception. They are clearly enjoying themselves in this photo. Some of the other pups will do the same thing…especially JJ, he loves the sun!

Lucy decided to curl up and nap between walks today. Her energy comes and goes. She is boycotting medicinal mushrooms. I seriously tried telling her they are amazing cancer fighters and it’s just a pill. She’s not having it at the moment.
