Our Reception children eagerly anticipate daily visits from the robins in our garden! Watching them up close has sparked curiosity about different bird species in our surrounding area, nests, feathers and what they eat! @FroebelCymru
New podcast episode out this week - listen now to Episode 16 'Play and early learning environments' with guests Helen Tovey, Emma Short, Liam Graham and Helen Adams: https://t.co/xrDCM4yuue

Inspired by @KnightonDayNurs we had a go at Christmas themed large scale playdough today. What a feast for the senses! The little loose parts inspired lots more transformative play, which we are fascinated by lately! @EAS_EarlyYears @FroebelCymru
A big thank you to the Alchemy CYP Theatre for doing their Cinderella pantomime for us on Friday, the children absolutely loved it in readiness for Christmas!
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at our Christmas Fayre! A special shout out to Friends of Monnow for organising, and to our amazing children who worked so hard creating beautiful Christmas crafts to sell!
Today, Reception children used a step ladder to safely achieve the height they wanted to build. Learning to manage risks when building at height! @EAS_EarlyYears
We discussed the best place to put the hedgehog box, and explored habitats where animals might hibernate for winter. Back in class, we created cozy homes for the animals, inspiring lots of enclosure play! @EAS_EarlyYears
Exploring winter colours and transformation schemas in the outdoor art and sensory areas! Children mixed, layered, and transformed materials like glue, paint, rice, and oobleckβdeeply engaged for over an hour! Fascinating to observe this high level of engagement! @EAS_EarlyYears
Nursery have enjoyed the sensory experience of exploring the clay with their bodies this week after staff noticed them exploring the way the clay reacts to different movements and tools. #dosbarthsquirrels @EAS_EarlyYears
We have noticed the children in Reception have been busy building their transformation schema. They have been making connections between materials, understanding cause and effect and experimenting with how things change! @EAS_EarlyYears @FroebelCymru
Diolch yn fawr to Tim and Tom this week for teaching our Year 6 children how to stay safe when they are travelling actively! Vital new skills were learnt this week whilst having lots of fun at the same time π² #newportroadsafety
Also a big thank you to Alex who came to see our Heddlu Bach on Monday. We really enjoyed learning about Dog Safety and Anti-Social Behaviour and canβt wait to share these important messages with our community! @heddlugwent
Heddlu Bach has been out this afternoon to support the road closures, check permits and encourage others to Park and Stride! #activetravel@SustransCymru @EAS_Equity @heddlugwent
Thank you to Will from @SustransCymru for delivering an assembly this week to kick start our School Street Trial happening today. We canβt wait to get started and encourage active travel in our community! π² π΄
