@reddit_lies I can tell by the upvote/comment ratio that he was being gaslit all the way but I'm telling you guys if you're like OP you're extremely incompatible with women who pursued casual sex in the past, you have so many differing perspectives on life at that point
@_MCMXXV_ the problem is you get used to it and only associate depression with really bad streaks in life. then you realize you have zero positive habits and just float around in survival mode
serial dating is such a concerning phenomenon because you have people putting themselves out there 3 days after a breakup which they're clearly not over and most of the time you don't even know it
@dreamsaster with the not being affected part I meant more like safely disengaging with the person and either quitting contact or just staying friends instead. if someone's a looney it's the safest way
otherwise I agree with the last part, using people deserves consequences
@dreamsaster yeah I'd say it depends on the severity of the situation. most people are okay with overlooking certain traits so they're willing to stick around when dating. like for example with BPD I've dated some who were okay, while others were clearly a person to avoid from day 1
@lillyofsheep@melanwav people who throw around 'performative' either have a personality type where they're people pleasers and do everything to appease others or are takers with this weird paranoia that people aren't humans but tools and project that everything others do is self-serving
@dreamsaster Like if I notice a girl is showing signs of BPD, validation-seeking behavior or is too quick to get attached I'll take a step back if I want a rs with them. If I don't want anything serious with them I don't care because I know it won't affect me.
@dreamsaster I'm fairly certain men who only want to hook up are actually MORE open to see women show emotions, especially negative ones, because they just want to hit and run. When you want a rs you're thinking long-term, some negative emotions make you worry they're unstable
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 Yeah I was already considering that lately and now imma double down on it since it seems like the safest option, thanks fam
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 like, how did you deal with your trust issues after that breakup? Did you develop a slow burn with a friend or did you meet your new bf with the intention of dating? @ASHIDORIAllCaps
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 The only thing that hurts is they're the first person I've decided to date after 2 years of intentionally staying single after another really bad breakup. I know there's good people out there, but having these back-to-back experiences is extremely demotivating
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 holy fuck this is word-to-word the same fucking experience I've had with my last ex. She said everyone is evil but used her own trauma as an excuse to be abusive and selfish with no consideration for others. When she called herself responsible at one point I just started laughing
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 like in the end it wasn't about whether she was being an asshole, it was about whether she was PERCEIVED as an asshole. and the argument devolved to my reaction to her being a hurtful selfish fuck. you just can't win with these people because they have an engrained victim complex
@ASHIDORIAllCaps@acenter102 went through this recently and it was the most powerful attempt at gaslighting ever cause they're so much into therapyspeak and believe they're infalible and can never do anything wrong because they have a condition. I got called an 'ableist' for calling out her asshole behaviour
