I just used whatever leftover materials I had laying around, and this puppet had to carry us through the entire film! Puppets don’t have to be fancy or even well-sculpted to bring out plenty of emotion. I think her role in The Outsider proves that. #diy #handmade #puppet

If you’re new to my work, I’ve been making puppet films for just a few years. I know now that I should have started this path many years ago. So what got me jumpstarted? This clip (which won “Best Bumper” at @portlandhorror) takes us all the way back to my first puppet film…

everything (minus a little compositing/animation) was to be created in-camera using simple camera tricks. Did I pull it off? think so.
