@therealgunroar@solana_sailor It’s very difficult to approach it in a way that’s truly game-first. It’s hard to make a great game. It’s hard to make a web3 project of any sustaining value. Doing both is monumental. If you don’t, then you’re right - you’re left with a soulless game (at best).
@solana_sailor That’s exactly it and there’s no tried and true playbook for what that looks like (yet).
Happy to be among other legal eagles trying to sort out this conundrum!
Code written. Assets awakened.
Inside the Matrix Hackathon, builders were challenged to rethink digital ownership.
The @metaplex Track winners are:
🥇 @FaenoraVerse
🥈 @SuperDriverGame
🥉 @tokendefense
These teams showed how on-chain assets can become the backbone of next-generation games on Solana.
The simulation continues… 👾
@Bkrumms@FaenoraVerse You absolutely dominated it like it was nothing! There is still some tweaking on the horizon, but those alpha tourneys were insane
@solana_sailor@solana@solanagaming@FaenoraVerse Thanks! We have a great team, just keeping our heads down and trying to make the best game we can regardless of the craziness of the markets!
I keep hearing all the time that web3 gaming is dead. Web3 gaming will never work. Those people are right in a lot of cases. But @FaenoraVerse is definitely an exception.
Here are some notable facts:
🕐Been live since November
🪙Launched $MCHY when they went live that is now sitting 12% above TGE
🧙♂️MPL404 NFTs that you can convert to tokens which means NFTs are also up 12% since TGE
💰90% of $MCHY spent in game is rewarded to top players and stakers.
💸10% goes to the team to develop more content.
🔒$MCHY has a set cap so no new $MCHY can be created.
✅You can play for free but only doing runs with NFTs allow you to earn.
🚫 So there is no free to earn in this game.
So the only way the game economy works is if there are people actually willing to risk their own money to play the game. They have proven time and time again that there are people willing to pay money to try to earn more. They just released on Seeker for season 2 and have a lot more coming down the pipe.
Well thought out games with intentional use of Web3 components work. Sloppy games where Web3 is hooked in for a way to generate revenue will never work. Unfortunately crypto gaming has been cursed with endless slop. But I'm glad that @MontNathan and the team at Faenora are finally getting the recognition that they deserve!
@Bkrumms@FaenoraVerse Thanks for the spot on write up! And we only got here because of awesome people (like you) in the community who care about the game we're making. Our team is awesome and cares about making the best game we can. We see web3 as a means to make it even more intense and engaging.
