The day has come where I no longer work in the AEC tech industry. The decision was hard as I’ve built quite a network here but I wanted to explore other tech verticals in my career.

This X is no longer the AEC technology guy and is now just me. That being said I’ll still post about contech as well as general tech, politics, history, and anything else that interests me.

A Chinese cyber gang spent over a year hiding inside ArcGIS — the trusted mapping software — without anyone noticing. 😳

No fancy malware, just a sneaky tweak to a legit server extension that turned into a backdoor. Even system restores brought them back like a bad ex. 💀

And yet someone somewhere still says, “Proprietary software is more secure.” 😂

The thing about cities (and if you’re conservative this may rub you the wrong way) they typically outlive the empire in which they were born.

NYC will more than likely be here after America is gone.

Bentley has bought dozens of companies but recently Cesium as of last year. Also going heavy on services investment.

They just can't seem to stop buying companies.

@vic_muchiri Not as much value-add for the startup. The VC arm can implement in-house which acts as essentially a first customer and a thorough beta test.

Other than that, not much they can do for you.
