If SEPTA's funding gap isn't closed, it won't just slow down rail lines or eliminate bus routes. It will starve businesses of customers and employees, cut off job opportunities, and limit people's ability to access education and healthcare.

Montco residents are the beneficiaries of over $140 million in federal grant programs per year. The OMB memo that froze federal funding was reckless and should never have been issued.

While it's fair to communicate a desire to evaluate government spending and programming, there are more effective - and legal - ways to do this in partnership with all levels of government. We're doing everything we can to protect our residents and ensure that we're able to continue to meet their needs, in everything from housing to public safety.

Montco proudly became the first county open for voting in the Commonwealth. Then the RNC sued us.

The RNC’s frivolous lawsuit is just the latest in a nationwide effort to engage in voter suppression, intimidate election officials, and undermine the democratic process. 

Our Voter Services staff has been diligently and effectively working to make our elections accessible for every eligible voter. We will continue that work so that Montgomery County voters have a safe, secure, and accessible election.

Today’s Juneteenth – celebration of the moment when the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas learned they were free. At our flag raising, our Commissioners discussed the significance of this holiday, progress we’ve made, work that needs to be done & hopes for a brighter future.
